we had an amazing trip last October and stayed at the Marriott grande vista which was gifted from my inlaws. They are also paying for our family and my husbands sisters to go to Miami next November and since we have free airfare we want to skip up to Disney for 2 -3 days. She may be able to give us the ts again but if not we cannot make the trip without spending as little as possible. I see really cheap hotels online but am wondering if those are really icky? Right now the budget Disney hotels are around 125 for our dates, how little can we pay and be in a safe clean place? I don't even care about a pool, just need to sleep and shower! My kids will be 6 and 2..... Any suggestions? I am dying to make this happen :) I am assuming we will have rental car to drive up, would prefer as close to parks as possible. Thanks

Check the non disney hotels around down town disney like the best western lake buena vista. Its within walking distance of downtown disney where you can catch the disney buses and they also have their own buses to the parks

November is tricky for budgeting at Disney. The first week is Jersey Week, the Wine & Dine half marathon is Nov 9 and of course Thanksgiving is busy. If you are not staying Nov3-10 you should get a decent rate onsite.

We go each year over Easter and can not stay onsite since we refuse to pay $190 for a value. We always stay at the Springhill Suites Sea World. We have made it parking lot to parked at DHS in less than 20 minutes (which is pretty much the same time as a Disney bus) We also have stayed at the Residence Inn by Sea World and it was great too. We seem to gravitate towards Marriotts.

If want affordable hotels I would stay offsite myself. I like Marriott myself. If really need check new Drury Inn Suites in Orlando because they have free breakfast and free light dinner include into the hotel price. I would keep a eye on travelzoo.com too because they have some great deals. Watch out the Clarion on travelzoo because sometimes that had as low 45 dollars a night.

I highly recommend this Residence Inn. It has a variety of suites..including family suites with a special room for kids. It also includes a large buffet breakfast. My family and I have stayed at least 8 times. It is well maintained, clean, quiet and only 5 minutes away from Downtown Disney. Was there 2 weeks ago for a girls' weekend with my sister in law!

The dates are 10-14, 13th if it gets too $. We didn't plan on returning for 5 years or so, but seems like a good opportunity. Thanks for the ideas! Is renting from a timeshare owner cheaper than a hotel? Are places like. Econolodge avg. 50 per night, gross or unsafe?

Most timeshares are around $100 and you might have to pay a cleaning fee.

The Residence Inn is listing $88 for your days. That includes a full hot breakfast buffet and is a 1 bedroom with a kitchen.

I would not book a Econolodge.

Kissimmee is just 10-15 minutes from WDW and has all kinds of hotels. Hotels.com usually has sales specials each weekend and on tues/weds.

Customers provide reviews at this site so you can read the good and bad of each hotel.

We often stay at an older place for 30-40 bucks a night. It is safe but not state of the art. It meets our need as a place to shower and sleep.

I like using hotels.com because I can get a refund if I cancel greater than 24 prior to arrival.

We spent 8 nights in a cabin at Tropical Palms Resort for $589 last June. It's off 192 just East of I4. The location was VERY convenient to the parks. There were lots of hotels in the area, but little in the way of traffic. I'd bet some of the places around there with fewer amenities would be cheaper still.
