Has anyone who received a Lowes First "upgrade to a suite" postcard last winter used it and gotten an upgrade to a suite or any other type of room? If so, did you pay rack rate or use some type of discount such as the Entertainment rate? I'm just wondering whether it's worth getting my hopes up!

This doesn't answer your question, but I have the card and I will try to use it on our trip on August 14th. I paid introductory rate of $149. Can let you know when we return on the 26th how we made out.

The card states it only works if you pay non-discounted rates but it never hurts to try. The worst they can say is no. But we've twice been upgraded from "regular room" to Bayview or pool view (at Portofino) simply by asking nicely if it was available, no Loews first membership or anything.

Actually, the post card that I was referring to states that it is valid with any "published rate"; whatever that means.

When I tried to use the card in April, I was informed the hotel was full. Otherwise, they would have honored it, they said. Who really knows.

mmmm, I assumed published rates were rack rates. Why not call Loews and ask? Maybe the hotel.

Good luck.
