I was thinking about going to WDW over Thanksgiving but the price from Kansas City is over $300. Any ideas on getting a lower price?

What days are you traveling? That is the busiest time of the year. I have gotten good deals in the past by flying Thanksgiving Day and returning home on either Sat or Mon.

You have picked the two busiest travel days in the US. Usually by now all the cheap seats on those days are gone. I think to get a better airfare you are going to have to change your dates. The other thing you might do is sign up for the airlines web fare notifications. However, on both SW and Delta those dates are black out for a lot of their specials.

I heard on the tv this morning that they wouldn't be surprised if there were some unbelieveable rates during the holidays to get people to travel.

I am not an expect or close to it on airline travel, but this summer I flew to WDW two times and watched prices everyday for a couple of weeks. Both times I booked my flights were on a Friday when it seemed Delta ran some good prices. At the beginning of the summer it cost me $169.50 to fly round trip from DFW and at the end of summer it cost me $111.50. I just talked my husband into a 5 day trip at Thanksgiving. Currently round trip is @ $240. I am hoping the prices drop some, because I only have $800 budgeted for travel. Disney 3 times in 7 months, I don't think my husband will let me buy APs again. :)

Right now the are offering $60 round trip from KC to Tampa. i don't know if your dates are available but it is worth a shot to check it out.

Check Expedia! I have been checking out airfare during Nov. and Dec. from MCI and there are currently several sales. $127.50 incl. fees! If you don't see the sale prices try using the "fare calendar" and type in your dates to see what's available! Good luck!

I would check with both Expedia and Travelocity. I imagine that they're dealing with cutbacks in travel too so it's worth a try. I've had good luck with Travelocity in particular.

Try Disney Travel too. I did not learn that they do airline reservations that are not part of a package. As a DVC member I do not need the whole package. I bought the "expensive" seats from USair and now I am worried about Metrojet pulling out of BWI.
