I will be visiting with my DH & 3 kids.

I have very low vision and can loose track of my party easily in large crowds, especially if the get ahead of me.

Last year we wore orange shirts one day & that worked well for me, but the day we all wore white - not too good, LOTS of people had on white!

What are some other good colors that would stand out from the crowd. And don't sy pink, there's no way the boys will wear that.

PINK

Yellow and orange and neon colours. You can make your own shirts that have a family logo like stitch. Carry a cell phone and you could try what tour guides do and have one person carry something up in the air like a walking stick that you can fold up. Reflective paints or tapes might help at night.

I need a nap badly so here is my silly idea. Get a tracker like device and put it on someone in your group and when you are lagging behind just click a remote. All of a sudden a kid is beeping but watch out for security, lol, or bomb squad might show up. Did I mention the nap.:confused3

My friend is mentally slower than me and male so I just tell him where I am going and let him catch up. I am so mean.

Good luck on the trip. The sane board person will be along later.:dance3: :grouphug:

trouble is that many groups use colored shirts as well. I once grabbed hold of a child I thought was mine, [and wasn't!] very embarrassing, till I produced my child who looked the same.

Yes, I'm still turn red when I can't pick my child out from the others (they wear uniforms to school), but I'm getting over it.

I tried the balloon thing, bit I didn't want to pay $7 everytime we went to the park & we got tired of fighting w/ the balloon on the bus.

Lime green, of course!! ;)

I wore a lime green small backpack (the small Baggalini one) to the parks. Maybe if some ppl in your group get the same-colored bright backpacks to wear, you won't have to worry about what color shirts everybody is wearing each day?

I know this may sound dumb, but wouldn't it be easier if your family made sure not to let you get separated? I have low vision as well and I'd never be able to spot DH in a crowd, so we stick together or have a specific meeting spot. While walking in crowds I keep one hand on DH's shoulder at all times. This may annoy others in the crowd, but it keeps us together and has worked fairly well. I figure it would annoy others more if he had to stop to look for me.

I like a little more freedome than that.

I can take care of myself, but DH would be overwhelmed if he had to babysit me & 3 kids.

I don't know what my #'s are, but I start to loose facial details at about 3'.

And you can forget about menu boards. Don't you just love it when you ask the cashier how much an item is & instead of telling you they point up at the menu board?! (thsat hasn't happened at Disney)

I'd say bright green.
At night what I like to do is get my friends to where glowing or blinking light up things (like those necklaces or something). It makes them easier to spot.

Yes.
Last year I had brought a bunch of glow sticks at the $1 store for the kids ('cause I'm frugal, not cheap!).
That was a lucky break, I hadn't planned on needing them myself, but I would have lost them for sure w/o them. We hung them on my DS6 back to keep track of him & the stroller.
But we do have cell phones, just not the DD & DS6.

Another thought I had: unique, brightly-colored (same color for everybody) hats to wear each day.
