low carb pizza

I'm not a low-carber, but saw this in the paper and thought it was interesting.

Donatos pizza is introducing a low carb pizza. Apparently the owner kept watching ppl buy pizzas, scrape off the toppings, throw away the crust and eat the toppings. He couldn't understand it b/c Donatos is known for it's crust!!

So they are introducing a low carb pizza. It's made with "soy-based protein crumbles" and then topped with cheese and whatever toppings you want and then baked.

Hmmmmm....

Any smart marketer knows when to jump on the MONEY bandwagon! It only makes sense!

There's a Donato's near my neighborhood WalMart, I'll check to see if they're doing it!

DH will be so happy to hear this. I was searching the net the other night and looking at the major chains because I thought I heard someone was coming out with a lc crust but Pizza Hut, Dominos and Papa Johns didn't list a lc crust and I was disappointed. I will check out the Donatos site. They are not my favorite pizza brand but we are getting tired of scraping the toppings off our pizza. DH is dying to be able to eat a regular slice or two. Thanks for the info!
