Anyone out there on a low carb, Atkins, or South Beach lifestyle? When I go, there are a lot of meals that I love to get that are not allowed on any of those diets/lifestyles. Such as the Chicken BBQ Sandwich at Sunshine Season Food Fair. For anyone on these diets/lifestyles, do you find it hard to avoid eatting those foods (foods that you had before there and you love and now you have to give up) or have you just went ahead and splurged on food. How did it affect you later?

You might want to visit the WISH forum here (it's in the "Just For Fun" section).

We have lots of low carbers and lots of Weight Watchers there, and many of us have visited WDW and figured out tricks to stay on our eating plans while there.

W.I.S.H. is We're Inspired to Stay Healthy, and you'll find lots of helpful folks there willing to share what they've learned.

I have been doing low carb for 1 1/2 years now. I have also visited DW 2 times during this. I have always found options for eating. To tell you the truth, I get sick now if I indulge in too many carbs, especially pasta. I love the Chicken Caesar salads at Disney. I find them at almost every place we eat. Ohanas was a great treat for me. Lots of meat, all I could eat, and the salad was great too. I would try to find meals that I could eat. Then maybe one meal during the day I would eat what I wanted. I never went all out, all day, carb crazy. I would have been sick. I have been on the diet so long that it is just how I eat now. I did get crazy on our last visit. It was our 10th anniversary trip, so I did eat more than my normal carb count. I just adjusted when I got home. I found myself wanting the sweets more, so struggled with that. I would say that for people that have not been doing the carb thing for long it is harder to go and come back to it. My SIL was on Atkins for just 4 months. Went to Cancun, and she could not get back on Atkins we she got home. I think the longer on it the better chances you have. You also know what to eat without consulting a book. You tend to make better choices.

Hi,

I can only tell you our experience at DLRP :-). It is not hard to find LC-food. There are salats at every counter service restaurant for a quick snack.

The only thing that is hard to avoid there are the brownies....but usually after 1/2 I dont like it anymore :cool1:

For our upcoming tripp (13 days to go :Pinkbounc pirate: ) I made PS mostly at the all you can eat reataurants so we can choose from the buffet.

I can tell you next month how it works at WDW but we had never problems at DLRP.
