We leave Thurs and they changed the weather forecast on us. So now I don't know what to pack for our trip. I had shorts and tops and now I think we will need capris and jackets- plz help!!!

Are the highs for the days in the low 60s? If yes I'd even skip the capris and go right to the jeans and sweats! Think layers!

If you're from OH, I don't think you'll need jeans and sweatpants, FL will feel much warmer in the low 60's than what OH feels like at the same temperature. I'm going on Friday until Tuesday and plan on taking capris, shorts, tanks/t-shirts and cardigans. Oh, and probably 1 jacket... and flip flops!

I agree with layers, but not to the extreme! To each his own, though. Have fun!

I'm from GA and low 60s is cold to me! I'd bring jeans and sweaters. Probably a jacket. I don't break out the shorts until it hits the 80s. :)

If you're from the north, then I think capris + tanks or tees + hoodies or windbreakers will be great. There probably will be times where you could wear shorts in the PM, but won't be uncomfortable in capris. If you really wanted to wear shorts, then bring more layers for the top to compensate (hoodie over short-sleeve tee over long-sleeve t, for example).

I am from NC and am leaving Thursday. I plan to bring jeans, long sleeved tees, sweatshirts to go over and a light jacket. Low 60's is still cold to me and that is the high. It won't get to 60 until about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. You can always take off clothes, but if you don't bring something warm, you will have to buy it there!

Low 60's is not short sleeved weather to me!!

We leave on next week too (coming from Indiana) and I'm stressing about what to pack! I bought shorts for my girls and now I'm wondering if they will even wear them!

I'm from Ohio too and low 60's sounds pretty good to me. I'd pack mostly capris, short sleeve shirts, and a sweatshirt for this weather. I'd throw in one pair of long pants in case it gets colder (or some of those convertible capris that you can roll down).

I have the same dilemma. We're from the Boston area, so it's pretty cold here, but low 60's for a high does not equal shorts to me, no matter where I am.

I'm going to pack an assortment of things from shorts, capris, roll-downs, skirts, and pants for my girls. Most dresses will have leggings under them for when it's cooler that can be removed if it warms up. We have Gap fleece hoodies for them and I'll bring sweaters and wind breakers. We'll also have our winter jackets that are the 3-in-1 kind, so we can wear just one of the 2 layers.

As for me, I'm pg, so my selection is more limited. :rotfl: I think I have some capris that will fit and I know I have a bunch of shorts and pants. It's the in between things that are more limited. I don't like to be cold, either.

I'm just going to pack things to layer.

Was at MK yesterday, temps in the low 60's. I wore capris, kids wore light weight pants. We all had on t's and a sweatshirt or sweater. We took the sweatshirts off for a couple hours in the afternoon when the sun decided to make an appearance, but otherwise wore them all day. When the sun went down we were a little chilly, but did stay for Wishes. I am from the North and thought I would be warm enough in shorts this week (visiting relatives), that was so not the case. Glad I brought some pants. Wish I brought more than 1 sweater. It did the trick, but I am sick of wearing it day in and day out.
LOL Unfortunately, I think you need to pack a little of everything. (except tank tops, can't imagine needing those)

Thanks!!! I was sooo hoping to be in shorts and at the pool. Of course its in the 70's now and when we leave. We are just there for 4.5 days. Oh well, warmer than here!!

I am currently in FL (DeLand) with family. I got here last weekend and today was first day I was able to wear short sleeve shirt and capri pants. Had to put the sweater on this morning and by the time we came out from dinner (6:00 pm) had to put it back on again. It has been unseasonably cold this year for extended periods of time. The area has broken all kinds of records for cold weather and in today's paper, Volusia county released money for folks to apply for heat assistance due to the extended time period of cold weather. It has been cold (in Florida terms, 50-60's as highs and 30's as lows) since January 1st. Tomorrow it is supposed to get to 76. The pools at the Disney hotels, while outdoors, are heated. However, I would not attempt to go in them these past couple of weeks because the outside air temp has not been conducive to poolside enjoyment. It is not getting down to freezing temps in the evening now, but cold enough for sweaters and jackets for sure. check accuweather for 10 day forecast and plan accordingly. A variety of clothes is best with easy to remove layers. We had gloves and hats on the other morning because it was only in the high 30's when we left the house in the a.m. I would pack a little of everything and plan a day to do laundry at your hotel if necessary. The airlines have made it difficult to pack enough so you may have to spend extra for a second or third suitcase to pack enough for your entire family. Be prepared. You can buy things here but that can get expensive. If you have layers planned, then you should be all set. You may get some days for shorts/capris next week. Just watch the weather and be prepared for a variety of temps. Have a wonderful time.

They are calling for the high 40's at night for several days! We need to pack for 9 nights, thank goodness we are splitting a 2br with my parents and have a washer and dryer so we can bring a little of everything! We always wear a heavy fleece and jeans on the plane so we have it with us for nights, especially Fantasmic, etc when we are not walking around and it tends to get cool sitting and waiting.

Last year when I went in Jan it got cool, lots of cropped pants and always had a thin fleece pullover tied around my waist. When you look at our photopass pics from '09 we are wearing the same fleece pullovers about 75% of the time! I got DD a bunch of pants this weekend that roll-up to capri length at Land's End and Target (she has short legs, so today I get to move all the buttons higher on the legs and add a 2nd set of buttons-lol!), I got myself some basic 3/4 lenth sleeve white and black t-shirts for days where it might warm-up then get cool at night.

We just got back on Thurs and our temps were 30's in the AM and got to appx 54-63 over the course of our 10 day trip. The highs were at 3pm ish and all but one day we had on multiple layers and the inner layer of our winter coats. Shorts were never even thought about and we saw SO many people in them (and sandals) with goosebumps all day long, I felt SO bad for them! Anyhow, we had jeans, long sleeve tees (for layering under short sleeved ones), sweat jackets and our inner insert for the winter coats. I think 1 day we were able to ditch one of the "jackets" (still kept 1) and wear short sleeves, but before noon every day and after 5ish it was chilly.

So I would agree with the others, plan on layers and adjust as needed each day. The best thing we did was bring the long sleeve t's for under regular t-shirts, it was easy to ditch them if it was warm, but unfortunately we could only do it one day of our trip because it was crazy chilly!

Do you think high 60's is swimming weather? I am soo bummed. Really am getting spring fever!

Funny thing is that when I look at 4 different places for weather, there is a 10 degree variance in the weather!!

I hear you on the temp swings, we always joke the only way they get the weather right is by looking outside and telling you what's going on at that exact moment. :lmao:

As for high 60's being swimming weather... I would say it depends on the nightly lows and if the pool heaters can keep up. We rented a house, paid for pool heat and figured since it was a smaller pool it would have been able to keep up a bit better than the large hotel ones, many of which are unheated. Because the lows were so cold at night and the day time temps never even reached the desired pool temp (84 degrees) unfortunately the pool heater had no hope of making the water anywhere close to tolerable. so even on the 1 day we had that *could* have qualified as swim worthy (hit a whole 63-64 degrees), because the water was so cold we couldn't even try. For us, if the pool was at least 75 and the air temp was around the 70 we might try, if the water was 84 and air temp 70 we'd be all over it, below an air temp of 70 combined with chilly water, I'd prefer to stay dry and just get spalshed on rides in the park. :thumbsup2

Wow only 6 days left, :woohoo:
The day we leave home it will be in the 30's in NY and in the 70's in FL So I hope that means it is warming up....

We just got back from a week with similar temperatures. We wore: jeans, short sleeved shirt, long sleeved shirt layered over, and fleece zip jackets. For the most part we were fine, but the one night we stayed for fireworks was too cold for the kids. We bought a Mickey blanket in the gift shop and they bundled under it in the stroller and were fine. I packed bathing suits but we never used them.
