Love WDW but looking for other things to do in Florida

We have done WDW, Universal, and Busch Gardens more times than I can count. Having said that, however, we love the area but are looking for other things to do and a different place to stay. It is myself, DH and two teenage sons, so I'm looking for a great hotel/resort with lots of activities to keep us busy. Any suggestions?

Here are some other activities in the area we've enjoyed over the years:

Sky Venture Indoor Sky diving in wind tunnels on I-drive

Gatorland -- more of an old time Florida attraction vs. a world class theme park // Always a good time for a few hours

Not for everyone, but we enjoy the Titanic museum too // They recently reopened on I-drive

I alway enjoy a day trip to Clearwater Beach too

Not sure which direction you're thinking of going, but here are some suggestions:

Kennedy Space Center
St. Augustine (the oldest city in the U.S., complete with Spanish fort)
Florida State Aquarium in Tampa
Lido Key Beach in Sarasota
