Love in the Mouse House: Our Disneymoon

Dates: Sunday, August 26th – Monday, September 3rd, 2007

Resort: Pop Century

Occasion: It's our honeymoon! We're getting married on August 24th, 2007.

Cast:

princess: Me(26) – I used to go on family trips to WDW every year but that stopped when I was 12 so it's been a long time since I was in the World. It feels like my first trip. I'm especially looking forward to the World Showcase and watching DH experience his first WDW vacation.

pirate: DH(24) – (He's my DFi now but will be my DH at the time.) He has never been to WDW and is equally as excited as me. He's especially looking forward to the dining experiences, mostly Victoria and Albert's Chef's Table. (He's a cook.)

Expectations: We are hoping for a leisurely trip with lots of time for relaxation and enjoying the details built in. We want some great dining opportunities and will take our time to enjoy them. We have no intention of jumping from attraction to attraction to “get it all done”. We have come up with a plan but are very flexible about it, being perfectly willing to alter it as we go. For instance, if we feel like taking nap in the middle of the afternoon, we will - no guilt about “wasting Disney time”. Romance is the order of the day.

Transportation: We are flying from the Stanfield Halifax International through Toronto on to MCO. We don't arrive until 11pm. We will be taking DME to our resort. We depart at 1:55pm on our last day and will be using DME again.

The Plan:

Sunday AUG 26

This is strictly a travel day. No time for much of anything.

Monday AUG 27

We plan to spend our first day in Epcot and stay for Illuminations. We will probably spend most of the time in WS. We might jump over to MGM afterward for EMH.

Tuesday AUG 28

We plan to spend the day at the Magic Kingdom with a break at lunch time where we'll head over to the Polynesian. We hope to take in the Dreams Come True Parade and Wishes.

Wednesday AUG 29

This is a free day for us to do some snoozing, swimming and shopping. After a late start, we will go to DTD. We will go to the Boardwalk in the late afternoon-evening.

Thursday AUG 30

We plan to spend the day at Animal Kingdom and take in the Jammin' Jungle Parade. When the park closes we will head over to Animal Kingdom Lodge and then probably to PI for some late night fun.

Friday AUG 31

We plan to spend the day at MGM and take in the Stars and Motor Cars Parade as well as Fantasmic.

Saturday SEP 1

We will likely go back to Epcot this day. We will probably spend a good deal of time in FW.

Sunday SEP 2

We will likely go back to the Magic Kingdom this day and take in Spectromagic if it is happening. We will hopefully spend our last evening :sad1: (I'm dreading it already.) at the Grand Floridian and maybe taken in the Electrial Water Pageant and maybe Wishes again.

Monday SEP 3

This day will mostly be devoted to travel. We'll probably only have enough time to eat breakfast at the POP food court and then get on our way.

Reservations:

We can make our ADRs the end of February.

Done and Done:

1. We already have our park hopper passes for six days.
2. We have decided to pay OOP and not do DDP.
3. We have booked our resort and paid the deposit.
4. We have booked and paid for our airline tickets.
5. We have begun to buy the necessary summer clothing.

Planning Difficulties:

1. I'm having difficulty tracking down the park hours for our trip so far. I have up until August 30th. I'm not sure why August 31st is missing. Did someone forget that that month has 31 days?

2. We arrive technically on the 26th but don't have our first TS meal in the World until the 27th. Therefore, we don't know which date we calculate 180 days from in order to know when we can make our ressies.

3. We don't know how early we have to leave the resort using DME in order to get to MCO in plenty of time to fly back to Canada.
