Can't find any recent threads on this subject. Has anyone recently been able to request a lounger on your bump out cabin (concierge level) either from Shoreside concierge or your onboard hosts?

We saw loungers on at least some of the extended verandahs on the Fantasy last week so it seems that they are either there already or that you can request them.

I just got off the 3/7 Dream and we were in a 1 bedroom (Cat T) on the bump out and I requested a lounger at the concierge desk on day 1. They called about 30 minutes later and said we were approved for one and the delivered it. We were in 12512.

Ok so one yes and one no! I'm in a category V, wonder if that's the deciding factor??

I'm not sure. We just wanted an extra chair even. They said no. This was asking once we boarded, directly to concierge. They apologized profusely, but for our request, it was not going to happen. Never hurts to ask

we were in a Cat. V. bumpout on dream (12008) and got loungers no problem. we had two loungers, two regular chairs, and a small table. that was in oct 2014, though, so it's possible the policy changed. it may also vary by ship, or by who the safety officer is at the time (someone has to approve it, and it's usually the safety officer). i would definitely ask - the worst that will happen is they will say no.

Same experience here! Cat V May 2014. We requested loungers when we boarded. Concierge hosts apologized but said no for safety reasons

We were approved for 3 loungers and 4 or 5 chairs in 12012 on the Fantasy in November. With an additional wheel chair, we could very comfortably sit 9 people on the verandah. Our room host had to get approval first, of course.

We were denied on the Dream Nov 2014 room 12508. There are regular chairs, reclining back chairs and loungers. We had the regular chairs. Ugh...another concierge fail for us.

^oh darn, we have 12508 next year and was really hoping for something more than just regular chairs, I'll still ask when I get there but will be watching this thread

This is all very odd--some get the loungers, some don't.

We've been in 11002 and 12012 and never any loungers there when we arrive.

But those " bump out" verandahs are quite large enough to accommodate lounge chairs so this time when we go again, we're going to ask!!

Not quite sure what the "safety" issue might be--children maybe????

This is the first post I have seen about 12008! We are sailing in May in that room. Were you happy with the location/amenities of the room?

we loved it. tbh, i think if we couldn't get a bump-out room again, i wouldn't bother to do concierge - the next year we did a non-bump-out cat v. and didn't really find the room any better than a regular room (and yes, concierge and lounge access were nice, etc, but for us, unnecessary).

as you can probably tell, i think the best part of 12008 is the huge balcony. you get a great view both front and back. we loved having the loungers (though from this thread it seems like that's hit or miss). however, the location is also great - close enough to the concierge lounge side door you can be there in 30 seconds, but far enough from that side lounge door and the elevator lobby entrance to the corridor that you don't get a lot of noise. the decor is different than the regular rooms - it's very nice, but i also like the decor in the non-concierge rooms, so i'd call it a draw. i think the concierge room may have more storage, though.

We are going to be going in 12508 next year (starboard side of the ship) just for the bump-out! We have stayed in port side rooms for most of our cruises and decided to change it up next year! Hoping that we will be able to get loungers at that time...every time we have gone concierge the bump-out rooms that we were able to see had the loungers in them.

I find it odd that you can't get a lounger in concierge. But I guess the lounge is considered close enough. What would the safety reason be? I know in 8682 it came with 2 reclining back chairs and 2 loungers. Didn't have to ask. Though to be fair the balcony is absurdly large.

We were in 12508 January 2013 and we were able to get 2 loungers. We were in 12508 again August 2014, but they wouldn't allow us to have them. We'll be back this August and we'll try again!

Frankly, the extra large verandahs should have loungers already---there is ample room and as yet no one has come up with a valid "safety reason" why not.
