Louisiana student has trouble with principal for wearing Colts jersey

This parish is also one of the "Florida Parishes". But I'll et you look that one up on your own. ;)

Well that isn't very nice.

Well knock me over with a feather--learn something new every day.

I was there in 10th/11th grade so never covered one bit of any Lousiana history.

I thought all of LA was part of the LA purchase. Did not know there was more to Florida--or perhaps never really noticed on those old maps.

Thanks, but if you think that your bond with the Saints is any stronger than mine for Bama - well, you are mistaken... ;)

Now don't go putting words in my mouth ;).

I was talking about Louisiana's bond with the Saints. Our entire state seems to rally behind our boys, we also are prob a bit closer to them due to wanting and needing something to hold on to after Katrina.
Lots of other state have divided loyalty due to more that one team , see Florida as an example .

NOW if we want to talk about Bama and LSU we have to start our own thread :rotfl: . Ill try to be respectful as I am sure you will be too, but I might trash talk Saban a bit lol.

Wonder if Saban is kicking himself for passing on Brees while he was at Miami ?

Hey we agree :rotfl: (but probably still for different reasons).

Should we really stir things up and start talking SEC football?

I have nothing but respect for LSU football (and baseball). I have many, many friends that are LSU alumni.

Now, if you guys would just fire the mad hatter and get a real head coach... :lmao:

Sorry. Didn't mean to say you were wrong or anything. Just wanted to expand on what you were saying so the article was clear. I thought the article said Livingston Parish District. (Or maybe I'm just so used to hearing it that it's what I read...whether it said that or not....LOL!)

LOL, no I didnt take it that way.

LOL maybe ; )

They get teased and ribbed, just as others do who live in areas where the majority of the population are fans of another team.

I guess that's the part I'm saying I don't get. There is no real majority here. We've been to sports bars in the area for football games and there seemed to be Giants, Steelers, Eagles, Redskins, and Cowboys jerseys. Interestingly, no Ravens jerseys in this part of Maryland. I will say that I'd be afraid to wear my Colts jersey in Baltimore. There are people in Baltimore who HATE, absolutely abhor the Colts because of what happened a hundred years ago, lol.

This thread has turned uncharacteristicly CIVIL!

QUICK! SOMEBODY STIR!!! :rotfl2:

...Wonder if Saban is kicking himself for passing on Brees while he was at Miami ?

I heard that he wanted Brees but the medical staff at Miami refused to allow the contract. Who knows the real truth. :confused3

I am glad for the Saints fans that Saban didn't get him, and for Bama. Saban might still be at Miami, and Bama would be struggling to win 7 games per season... :rolleyes1

When we have Cavs, Indians, Buckeyes, or Browns day at work we can only dress down if we wear the specified team or teams. If someone came in a shirt for any other team they would be sent home to change. If the rules were put out there you can't just wear a different team and think it is ok.

Other than Texas there are no other pro teams anywhere close. The other teams you mentioned have had a lot more success and national exposure than the Saints, and would have more widespread fans. The Saints were all we had if you wanted to back the home team. Now that they've won the Superbowl, I suspect they'll come to the attention of people in other areas of the country.
