How does disney's lottery system work?? My fiance and I are not really set on an exact date except that we want a Saturday in June and the time is not an issue be we know we want the WP. When do they do the lottery? 8 mons out or before?? Once you sign the contract can they change your location or once you win your lottery can they not change it?? I am very worried beacuse I dont want to be 8 months from my wedding and not have something that I am happy with (Like if I lose all of my lottery dates/times) Do they do the same thing with the reception locations? :confused3This will be a big factor for if we decide to have a DFTW or not. Any suggestions/help/comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

I too am looking at a Sat in June 2007. This is basically my understanding. You tell them a date and a time(you have to set at least a date I believe...we are having a site visit in 3 weeks or so and they wouldn't make the appt until we told them a solid date). If someone else wants that same date and time a year before that date they basically pull a name out of a hat (in a sense) if you do not win then you keep trying until you get a date and time you are happy with. I am hoping for a sat in June but I will say that is peak time for weddings (and also a $$$20,000 min for a custom which disney only mentioned like 100 times!!! :headache: )and I know a girl who lost a lottery like 6 times and that was October.... so my advice is hope for the best but have a plan B. May I ask what day, and time you are hoping for? I would hate to be in the same lottery :rotfl:

We dont have an issue with the $20,000 minimum. We have over 150 guests which makes meeting that part easy. I just don't like the whole lottery idea :scared: We would love the wedding pavillion thats really the only one we like...everything else is outside..... I know the lottery makes it fair in many ways beacuse you obviously cant have everyone at the same place and time. We arent set on a specific date...its more flexible considering we live in Orlando. And the time isnt a big issue either any of them after 2:30 would be good. We are taking our site tours on the 21st. It is just very stressful not knowing what you are going to get :worried:

Yeah I know what you mean about not Knowing. The 20,000 is not too big of a deal for us either so thankful for that we will probably go a little over even though we are not using disney photography. What reception spaces are you looking at? I was thinking 1:30-2 ish for the Pavilliuon so even if we want the same day it would probably work out :goodvibes . Maybe we will see each other lol! Anyway god only knows how many other peoiple want sat in June :scared: Are going on a site visit Jan 21? We will be there ronly a week or so after you! let me know how it turns out.

Hey girls-

I noticed both of you had mentioned things around the half hour. For the WP (and I suspect everywhere else), Disney only does weddings on the even hours... starting at 8am to the best of my knowledge. So, you'd both be look ing at a 2pm or later wedding.

I just got back from another site visit with my sales manager, and we have confirmed a 7:30 pm ceremony time at the WP. So I am pretty sure that you can have it on the half hour.

I believe the times differ if its a weekend or a week day ceremony. We got married at 2:30 on a Friday.

I believe it varies based on season and weekday/weekend, but the basic schedule is 10am, 12pm, 2:30pm, 5:00pm and 7:30pm.

Yes you are right I believe it is 10,12,2,4 etc...we are thinking 12 thanks ladies. I will double check with our sm during our site visit!
