Ok, I've got tons of time to plan my next trip (Jan/Feb). What would be the best strategy for booking a package, and when (I'm looking for DDP along with it). Can you book the AAA package discount and then cancel it later if free DDP comes out? Or are you stuck with your original package. Or are you better off booking a package with Disney and waiting/hoping for free DDP and modifying your ressie (can you?), or if free DDP doesn't happen, cancel and rebook with AAA. Arrrgghhh. Too many choices... When you do book, how far in advance do you normally do so? I think last time I booked (found a great code) was about 6 months or so ahead. :surfweb:

I'll be corrected if I'm wrong - but I'm not aware of any free dining offer that ever applied for the months of January or February (historically speaking)

In terms of other discounts.. if you boook direct with WDW and a better package discount (ticket upgrades, room discount off package whatever) comes along.. you simply call the reservation center and ask for that code to be applied to your reservation.

IF there is availability at your resort in your grade of room - no problem. If not you may have to change room grade or resort to take advantage of the discount. This is also not a problem usually.

If you book with AAA - you are forced to get your AAA agent to make any changes to your reservation. Of course you can cancel it - but check to confirm your local (CAA) office will cancel with no penalty. Some CAA/AAA offices charge a cancellation fee.

Hope this helps.
