It has been since the covid debacle. I'm shocked people are complaining about it. Enjoy! It's not the end of the world...maybe it's the end of DCL cruises costing three times more than the competition... we can hope.

I'm hearing tourism is down in the US quite a bit with all the travel restrictions other countries are listing on us. Couple that with inflation, and job loss, and we are seeing consumers starting to cut back on spending. When I looked at economic numbers in Feb, job growth was still keeping up with job loss--but that wasn't expected to last as we are seeing more federal job cuts in March, etc. This can impact private industries too that depend on federal spending, etc. I may be wrong--but I suspect greater economic factors might be contributing to less demand for cruises (or just travel in general)?

... I thought you were so much better than a laughing emoji. I live in a Canadian snowbird city I'm not seeing a lack of love for warm weather. I'm going to Canada this Summer on a DCL cruise including a stop at Victoria. No changes to Victoria. I think you need to take a step back from the MSM. Anyway I was also considering a 4 day Bahamian cruise, but the discount was pulled. I guess sales aren't that bad. The cruises will sell..no worries.

I apologize. I actually thought you had a good point about the disclaimer and I laughed when I read it. But I could have communicated that more clearly. I will remove the emoji.

There are other warm places to travel and the data is already coming in from places like Hawaii showing a huge drop in Canadians traveling there.

As far as Victoria, I am just reporting what a U.S. Senator is threatening - a change the PVSA so ships can bypass Canada, which came in response to threats to make it more difficult or expensive for cruise lines to stop there. I don't think it will happen, but you never know if things continue to escalate. I think all of this is completely unnecessary and bad for both countries. I will leave it at that. I am happy to get into the politics (and news/entertainment sources) if it interests you, but we will need to do it on the appropriate forum here or in DMs.
