Lots of questions about Fort Wilderness Transportation

Maybe it is just a coincidence, but it just seems like every trip we make, we get stuck at Epcot at least once for an extended period of time.

No it's not a coincidence. The facial recognition system that Disney uses at the bus stops, oh, you didn't know about that, it's new, has picked you out as a major PITA and tells the computer to delay your buses.

Has anyone ever seen the mythical "Character Breakfast Bus" that is supposed to begin running earlier than the park busses? Supposedly runs to all resorts and parks an hour before the earliest seating time but I have never seen it, although we usually do drive our truck to the non-MK parks so I'm not a transportation expert.

Yes they do exist, well kinda. The buses that take guests to the early character breakfasts are the same as the other buses except they start operating earlier. I don't think the marquee reads Character Breakfast.

Nope the Marquis will read Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, or Animal Kingdom.

The Magic Kingdom buses start about 6:30 am (not applicable at Fort Wilderness). This early bus is designed to get you to early breakfasts at the Magic Kingdom, the monorail resorts, WL, and FW.

The other buses start around 7am.

To go to any of the Epcot resorts take the Hollywood Studios bus, then walk or boat to the Epcot resorts.

To go to Animal Kingdom Lodge take the Animal Kingdom bus.

When you board these buses, politely ask the driver the best way to get to your destination. They may be able to take you directly to your destination if there are few or no other guests on your bus.

Now of course, Ft. Wilderness is totally different for Magic Kingdom. To get to those early breakfasts at Magic Kingdom or the monorail resorts, your best bet is to take the small boat that runs FW/WL/CR over to the Contemporary, then walk to the MK, or monorail to one of the other resorts. This boat starts at 6:45 am.

There is an early direct bus from WL to the Magic Kingdom.

Not to be a pest but.......
1. Do these busses make alot of other stops (WL, TTC, value resorts) before going to their destinations?
2. If they start at 7am is that 7am at the outpost or do they leave their depot at 7am and get to the outpost at say, 7:15?

The odd thing is that if you got your hands on a Transportation Tell-A-Cast flyer, those early buses are still refered to as Character Breakfast buses and the published starting time is 7AM, but they do start at 6:30 or even a little earlier, don't ask. That's way too early for me so I've never done it. And as clkelley wrote, put the driver in a headlock, and tell him or her to take you to your destination. She may have worded it a little differently. They'll do it. What else have they got to do at that hour?

No, the Epcot bus does share with WL, but it goes to WL before going to Fort Wilderness.
The Studios bus does not share, so it will go directly to Studios
The AK bus does share with a dropoff at Blizzard Beach, but won't start dropping there till closer to their opening time

I would imagine 7am at the Oupost, or in the case of WL, 7am at WL

You know that and I know that, but for some reason, I have gotten MUCH better responses from CMs when I play dumb.

A prime example, I was doing a fireworks cruise from the Yacht Club to view Illuminations. As I left Epcot out the International Gateway I told the CM that I was taking a fireworks cruise and after the cruise could I walk back through Epcot to get a bus to my resort. Her answer was "Epcot closes at 9pm"

After the fireworks cruise I walked back to the International Gateway and told the security guard "I left my car in the parking lot at Epcot" He let me walk through Epcot and I boarded a bus to my resort!! Studios had closed really early that evening so going to Studios for a bus was not an option.

In a lot of cases if you tell a CM "I read on the internet that you could take me directly to my breakfast" that will get their hackles up. If you coat them with honey and ask "what's the best way to get to my destination" it makes them feel good that they can give the guest some "magic"

That is true. We'll bend over backwards for nice people because we like "Making the Magic". Looks like you have the art of playing the CMs down pretty good. I'd fall for it, but we know, that you know, that we know. Plus putting me in headlock might distract me while I'm driving.
