Lots of pictures of the Villas at the Grand Californian.

Absolutely fabulous pictures! Thanks so much for sharing!! :thumbsup2

WOW! I love your pictures!:lovestruc Can't wait to stay here.

Love your pictures! We were there 9/29-10/2 and had a stayed in a studio. We also loved the Villas.

Kathy,

This was room 5508. We checked out on the 27th and you must have checked in that evening. I know this was the same room because of that broken door under the sink. (We did not break it) it was loose when we moved in and then on Saturday it finally broke. We called maintenance and they came right up. They said that the builder had a warranty on everything and would come and fix it. Too bad they did not fix it before you got in the room. It was weird seeing the Youtube of the room knowing we had just checked out that same morning. Here is the youtube video I took of the same room on Wednesday. http://www.dvcnews.com/index.php/news-resorts-162/1054-vgc-one-bedroom-video-tour

Anyway, nice report. Hope you liked the room.

LOL! Absolutely right! I forgot to post the room -- 5508. The room was delayed and at 4pm it was still not ready. We finally just asked what was up and they said "oh a cabinet is broken." I said OKAAAAAY. How about we settle in and THEN you all fix it. The guy hesitated and then said ok, go ahead. LOL. So we moved in, and about 2 hours later the cabinet guys came by and fixed it. It was done by the time we got back from dinner. No biggie. ;)

Loved the room! Top floor (no 6th floor at the villas unlike the hotel, which has 6 floors all around). Very easy access to the pools. My only gripe in hindsight is that the hotel really was not prepared for any timeshare living. They had no little market to buy things to keep in the fridge. No supplies to purchase anyplace on site. They need to put a little market in there somewhere where one can buy more Tide or dishwashing detergent or microwave popcorn, milk, bread or other quick snacks. Ah well. We COULD drive to a local market but being that we were lazy and tired after a full day at the parks, we didn't.

Don't tell me you missed the market at White Water Snacks!?!?!? :rotfl2: They do have a few of the food items there but it isn't comparable to the other DVC's. Milk, bread, jam, peanut butter, frozen lasagna and a few other items are available.

We were there Sept 27-30, and I'm pretty sure that Whitewater Snacks (on the opposite wing of the hotel) had all of these items. It wasn't a big section, but i DO remember laundry detergent, milk, eggs, bread, popcorn, lunch meats, and quite a few other items.

The problem, I guess, is that it's not well "advertised" to DVC guests. I only knew to look there because of posts on the DIS.

Wow! Great pictures! And, it looks like you had a 'park view'? A trip to Disneyland is on my 'bucket list,' but apparently, I need to do some research. I didn't realize the villas are so close to the park.

I agree with this. We had a lovely stay and great service but I did feel like they are still working out how to handle DVC guests. We used a car and ran to Ralph's for groceries but a lot of people will not have this ability and a little more selection at WWS would be nice :thumbsup2!

Thanks again for sharing your pics!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. We're hoping to stay here in October 2010.
