Let me start by saying that in the year leading up to our trip I spent countless hours lurking around the disboards and I have asked many questions and received a lot of very helpful advice for our trip. There were a number of times that your advice really came in handy during our vacation.:worship: I am writing this trip report largely because I really appreciated all the advice in the trip reports I read leading up to our vacation. I’ll be happy to answer any questions I can. We took loads of pictures so I will include lots as we go. Hopefully I can figure out how to add them.

Our total vacation is from Jan 22nd – Feb 14th. But we only stayed ay Disney from Jan 25th – Feb1st so this trip report will only cover that portion of the trip. The rest of the time was spent with my parents at their home in Dade City with two traveling days on each end of the trip to as we live in the arctic.

Some background; this is DD5 first trip to Disney and our first time staying onsite. DH and I spent our Honeymoon at Disney in 1997 and another trip in 2001 but we stayed offsite. We purchased 8 day park hoppers, the deluxe dining plan and a MK view Tower room at the Contemporary. We used the 4 + 3 special when we booked and I made my ADRs 90 days out with only a couple of changes made due to Spectromagic switching nights during our stay.

Monday, January 25th – The Magic Begins…. FREE UPGRADE
My parents drove us over from Dade City(less than an hour). We arrived at the Contemporary resort at 2:00pm. We did not plan to have any park time that day, we planned to look around the resort, unpack, ride the resort monorail and have supper at Chef Mickey’s at 5:35pm with my parents. We booked a MK view Tower Room so we also planned to watch Wishes from our very own balcony!

As previously reported by others when DH and I walked into the lobby (DD5 was asleep in the van with my parents) we were greeted by “Welcome Home” :lovestrucand immediately escorted to the counter and introduced to “Paul”. Who quickly became my new best friend!

Paul was super professional and friendly even before he confirmed that we had a MK view Tower room with a 0 balance owing and then casually mentioned that we would be on staying on the the12th floor Atrium club level. I think I passed out for a moment and said “Is that an upgrade Paul? We only booked a standard room.” He responded, “That’s a bit of Disney magic for you today!” :wizard: Good thing he wasn’t close enough to kiss. We have never stayed club level anywhere before so I tried to hide my excitement so I didn’t seem like too much of a hick. Paul mentioned that we would see him on Friday as he was working club level that day. Our room wasn’t quite ready but Paul said they would call DH cell phone when it ready.

What a nice surprise! Very cool!

If you need help loading pictures, just give me a PM - I can walk you through it!
:goodvibes

Thanks for writing!
