Lots of Characters, Lots of Firsts but Lots of Drama: Why We Say NEVER AGAIN!! 3/21

I had this idea of going to Disney with my brother once we both have kids, and bring my mom and step-dad along too, but maybe I'll reconsider that after finishing to read your TR.:rotfl:

At least it's nice that you were able to enjoy so many firsts with your DD and DH. Love those pictures on the Tea cups! :goodvibes

Those pictures are amazing! How on earth did you get such good pictures while on the tea cups??? :worship::worship: Lilian is just so precious.

Cant wait till the next update!!!

Thank you! I have a DSLR, so I used the shutter priority mode, lowered my f stop and focused on Lilian (and then DH). It will stay focused, but will blur the background because of the movement. :thumbsup2

Stephanie, I am so glad that you decided to do a TR...drama and all. Those pictures of Lilian's first view of the castle and the ones on the tea cups are incredible! I can't wait to read more.

Thank you Sophia! It was really the first few days that were the worse as far as the drama and pettiness went. There were so many beautiful, amazing memories of the trip that I refuse to let the drama overshadow it.

Just loved all the pix from your first moments at MK the fall decorations and that beautiful blue sky as the backdrop to the castle were wonderful
The rocks all in a line remind me of my son Nathan he'd do the same thing
MTP what a great first pic I like how you went w/ Lillians lead and how adorable she looked as she went twrilling around in her cup
Great fun
Hope she gets to meet the Princesess

Thanks Julie! The sky was gorgeous that first day. :goodvibes Lilian has always been attracted to rocks, she actually has started a rock collection. She LOVED the Tea Cups!!

I've never read it. I'll have to soon!

Great shots of Lily on the teacups! She looks so happy :) The teacups were closed while we were there :( So was IASW but that song drives me nuts after awhile so I wasn't too heartbroken lol.

IASW closed before we got there, so we did not get to ride it. I think DD would have really enjoyed that ride so we will be looking to ride it the next time we go. :goodvibes

I'm really enjoying your report so far! :goodvibes Your pictures are great and you do such a good job of putting in details without making it monotonous. Very entertaining and I can't wait for more updates!

Just fyi - your link in the table of contents for Day 1, part 3 isn't working properly. I think the front of the url has some unnecessary info.

I don't think I have welcomed you to my TR so :welcome:! Thank you, I am really trying to not be monotonous, as that does not make for great reading! :rotfl:

I fixed the Part 3 link, thank you for the head's up. :goodvibes

I love your pictures :thumbsup2 so clear & its great to be able to see the MK with all the Halloween decorations!

Your DD is just soooo cute! I'm partial to red heads though, having one of my own. But her facial expressions after seeing the castle for the first time & the ones on the tea cups are precious :lovestruc

The group pics from the photopass is great, your DD will look back on those years from now & only remember the special 4th birthday spent at WDW, the drama will never be remembered by her. However, for those of us reading along, it makes for fun reading :lmao:

I appreciate how you include all the details, even if they aren't those Norman Rockwell moments. I did the same on my TR, we didn't get along the entire time but it's okay, that's the reality of it :goodvibes

Looking forward to reading more popcorn::

Thank you! I had one wish when I was pregnant--I wanted a red head. Of course, I did not think about the red head tendency to be stubborn or fiery! :rotfl2: Nope, Lilian will not remember any of the drama, in fact she was not aware of most of it when it was happening. I bore the brunt of the dissatisfaction, tempers, frustrations with DH occasionally thrown into the mix. I really tried to diffuse the situations as fast as I could, so it would not affect us for long. :thumbsup2 Looking back on it all, I think a lot of it had to do with the heat/dehydration more than anything. One of the many lessons learned on the trip--drink plenty of fluids, even if it means going to the bathroom more frequently!

Thank you, I am trying to strike the balance between enough details but not too many.

You will find that things lighten up considerably towards the end of the trip. I am going to write out some lessons learned, that may be beneficial (or not :lmao:) to those reading along planning extended family trips.

DH and I felt overwhelmed many moments because of the situations causing drama, but we found if we stepped back and focused on DD, we could get out of any funk quickly. :goodvibes

Awesome pictures of Lillian's first ride, I love them and I'm sure with all the Disney trip you have with her you'll cheerish them. I cheerish my son's first look at the castle, first ride and first characters...the pictures just shows the joy and excitement that can't be explain in words. I love the pictures, what camera do you use? How many pictures did you take from her first trip? Just curious...I love pictures so much too...

Cool, looking forward to reading it. :)

Hi there, I'm joining in a little late. You totally hooked me on your trip report with the vacation chart. I love it! Love the pictures too, they are great!

Great shots on the teacups Steph! What lens were you using? Did you take more than one or just use the same one the whole trip? I rented a lens for our trip and was glad I did so I didn't have to change lenses!

Like everyone else I love the teacup shots! Looks like you're having a fabulous time:goodvibes

Oh my goodness, those pictures of Lillian on her very first ride made me cry!

Thanks for sharing, they were just so sweet!

I am cherishing the memories already. :goodvibes Thank you so much! I use a Canon Rebel XS. You know I have not added them all yet but I had an 8G memory card in my camera and there were several days I came close to filling it up. :rotfl: Mind you, I took many duplicate shots with the faster shutter speeds. I would guess 1500 on average a day, with duplicates. Pairing down to discount duplicates and out of focused shots--900 shots at least per day. On Tuesday, her birthday, I took way more than that I'm sure. I am still going through pictures actually because of the large volume. :thumbsup2
