LOST SEASON 3 **Official** Discussion/Speculation Thread (No Spoilers)

I think Sayid really tortured her too...although it is possible he said that just to give her some peace and was thinking that he'd be tortured and killed whether he admitted to it or not.

And some of the episode did seem too staged...like when the eyepatch guy totally missed Sayid with the iced tea pitcher and it hit the wall a few feet away from both Sayid and Kate.

If the cat wasn't the smoke monster there was still something significant about it. It wasn't named Nadia by accident.

If I'm not mistaken, Sayid didn't admit to torturing the woman. He said something about remembering her. And apologized. I'm not so sure he tortured her. He probably does remember seeing her at the same facility. Maybe he apologized so he could give the lady some peace, and it was the only way he could think of gaining his freedom??

I really do wish this show was on earlier. I'm finding it difficult to watch it so late at night during the week!

My Russian really sucks but I do know a little. Remembering back to last night, I think the word underlined in the letter was Nadia( in Russian). My memory is so bad, I said the name out loud last night but now I can't even remember for sure what I said! Other than that, even with the Tivo I couldn't catch the rest of the writing. If someone has a photo of the letter, I can do my best with the translation. As far as the dialogue, it was so darned fast, I'm going to watch it a couple of times today to see what I can figure out.

OK, I've rechecked, it said "Andrea or Andre". The red writing on the side said "my name is Andrea as well"

the dialogue:
Mrs. Klugh: Mikheil, you know what to do.

Patchy: ...Do we have a chance?

Klugh: We can't risk it... you know the circumstances.

Patchy: ... there IS another way..

Klugh: You know what to do, that is an order.

Patchy: We've GOT ANOTHER WAY!

Klugh: Do it Mikheil!

Patchy: I AM SORRY! (Shoots Klugh)

Thanks for posting!

This episode is the first one where my husband and I were yelling at the tv screen- the story line was good but there were so many fake looking/non LOST things that it was a bit of a disappointment. Sayid acting so cowardly when he was first captured (yes, anyone would be scared in that situation but it was very un-Sayid like), the way the guy with the patch (I don't hear well so never caught his name, was it Mikhail?) threw the iced tea seemed so staged, the way John was so giddily (excuse the made up word) tempted to play the chess game, and other things. It wasn't necessarily the actions, but more the way they were filmed/acted out that bothered us. Anyone else feel this way or are we just too picky? I really feel it was too cheesy, not at all like other episodes.

Nope, you're not too picky. It struck me as weird, also.

Ok, Sayid acting scared - I can understand that if it's his way of trying to get out of a bad situation.

Locke and the computer chess game - c'mon, get real! They just stumble upon this house in the middle of the jungle, for all they know it could be their means of finally getting off that island, and instead of checking out the house and seeing if anybody else is hiding somewhere, Locke decides to sit down and play a game of chess while Kate is helping Patchy fix up Sayid's arm???? :confused3

And you're right about the whole iced tea thing. Patchy shoots Sayid, and once they tell him their plane crashed he's all nicey-nicey with them, invites them in and fixes up Sayid's arm? Even Kate gets all comfy, accepting the iced tea without question. How do they know he didn't poison it or something?

I really did enjoy the Hurley-Sawyer ping pong game. Way to go Hurley!!:thumbsup2 Betcha Sawyer doesn't make it a whole week without making up a nickname for somebody.

Way to translate! :thumbsup2

.

Here's my take on this: I really thought Locke was trying to figure out if it was a "real" person on the other end of the computer playing chess with him. As far as Kate & Sayid taking the lemonade, did you notice (or am I wrong) that they didn't take a drink until Mikhail did. In fact, at one point Sayid purposely held it to his mouth to drink, then quickly "pulled it away" as if to reply when Mikhail said something to him. Almost like he was acting....
BTW-that was not MY translation, I pulled it from another website. I only speak choot-choots Rooski (a little bit of Russian). I only translated the name, I'm pretty good at the alphabet. For what it's worth I have a Chihuahua named ChootChoots Sabaka, a little bit of dog :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the episode was hokey. Another one I remember thinking was ridiculous was when the man (who's wife was tortured) hit Sayid- it looked incredibly fake! Anyway, I still thought it was a good episode, just wondering what's up with the shotty acting...

Thanks for the translation Cindyluwho!

I didn't think the acting was bad at all, and I thought it was the best episode in a long time. :confused3

I totally agree with you Sk8Leigh. I really did not like last weeks episode because it was just fluff. No real information and it did not advance the story. Last nights episode felt like the same nonsense in the beginning. That whole thing with the ping pong table and Sawyer's nickname fetish. I just thought here we go again. Another fluff episode. Then we meet Mr. Eyepatch. And the whole episode changed. Last night's episode really felt like they are back on track.

Just wondering...

Does anyone have a list of the numbers that the video instructed Locke to enter into the computer?

Just wondering if any of the numbers have a meaning...

The last number was definitely 77 and I think one of the other numbers was 38, but that's all I can remember. I'm sure there's someone here with a better memory than me:)

The cats looked similar, that's what triggered Sayid's memory, but I think the cat in the jungle was much smaller. The cat was named "Nadia" after the gymnast.

After Eye-Patch removed the bullet, he never cleaned the wound before bandaging it. This will surely lead to infection.

I think that whole chess game thing was planned to get Locke to win, answer the questions, and thus blow up the "farm house".

Why did Sun limit Sawyer to "no nick-names" for only one week? Why didn't they make it permanent? Cuz then we wouldn't be having so much fun. Did you catch Sawyer calling Hurley "Grimace"? That's the big, purple, furry character from MacDonalds!

No comments about tonight's episode? I LOVED it, it was so great to get back to the way things used to be.

I enjoyed it VERY much.

So Jack and Claire are (half) brother and sister? For some reason I wasn't surprised. I wonder if they'll ever find out.

What I didn't get was this:

When Kate and Sawyer escaped, they needed a boat because they were on a different Island than their friends.

Then at the end of a recent episode, Julia, Jack and Ben and the Others boarded a boat and said they had to leave because the Lost folks know where they are now and will come back to save Jack.

Then the end of yesterday's episode, Kate, Sayid and Locke find Jack and the Others that easily on their own Island? Why did Julia and Ben and Jack take a boat supposidly to get away because Kate would come back to save Jack and take it back to Kate's Island??? :confused3 It just made no sense to me!

Am I missing something?

But I did LOVE it anyway! I can't wait to see what's up with Locke. Sounds like we're going to learn something interesting about him next week.

The island where they held Kate, Sawyer & Jack was the work island, they live on the other one.
