I got an email from the person we are renting their home from in Aug...house is sold & we lost our rental. So now I'm scrambling to find something...forunately, we have time.

We've stayed at Vistana Resort (no the one on I-Drive), years ago & I've booked that, but I really hate paying what is a mortgage payment to stay there.

I've looked at the Holiday Inn Vacation Club & they are less pricey. How is this place? I'm seeing mixed reviews on Tripadvisor. Is the location good? Has anybody stayed there before & can offer insite?

Have you tried Orlandovillas.com? I think it's a very useful site and even has a forum.

Good luck to you. I hope your find a wonderful place to stay.

:)

Yes that is the Holiday Inn Vacation Club Orange Lake

Good, I know it gets a lot of mixed reviews, but I like it. Stayed there a couple of times. Resort is huge. You will need a car. However, there's a lot to do there, and it's clean. I think the size is a turn off for most. Close to the parks, and very close to AK. The property itself is right next to AK. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again; however we were able to get Wyndham Bonnet Creek.

I would try Wyndham Bonnet Creek renting from Ken Price or Vacation Strategies. Wonderful resort, great condos and very reasonable.

Orange lake is great, that is the only place we stay when we go (semi-local), the resort is big, very spreadout so if you don't get a room near the water-park "River Island" you will have to drive or take the resort shuttle. When you book you can ask to be near River Island, the rooms are a bit more expensive but worth it in my opinion as they have all been renovated and are a stones throw to the big pool area! As PP mentioned the resort is close to Disney property, there is a back road that will take you into Disney right by AK and AKL.

192 offers a TON of places to eat, everything from Mickey D's (kids favorite) to Texas Roadhouse (my favorite). There is a Publix Grocery store near the entrance so you can stock the Condo with goodies. There is also a Wal-Mart and a Target on 192 in the event you need something not offered at a grocery store.

You should try VacationCentralFlorida.com or MYresortnetwork.com they both have great deals.

my problem was the light on US 192 to get out - it took a very, very, very long time to turn green - now if this fixed - might consider staying there again - but siting at a light for more than 15 minutes when there is no traffic or very little on the other side(US 192) - just makes me mad.

Orange Lake is big - it like AKV, OKW & SSr combined and then some.

would probably go with Wyndham Bonnet Creek and rent thru VS

or you can just the parent company of this website and go thru
