I just need a hug. One of my Special Olympic athletes who was part of my 2007 World Games team passed away unexpectedly on Monday. Her mom says she went to sleep like normal but never woke up. This was a healthy, vivacious, adorable young lady and I am just so sad that she's gone. No idea of the cause yet.
She was such a wonderful girl with so much promise. She lived so far away from of all of us coaches and essentially had to coach herself (she was an equestrian) at home before World Games. She performed amazingly in China at the event..spent most of it glued to my hip, holding my hand and smiling non-stop!
If you can spare a prayer for Savannah and her family, please take a moment for them.
Thanks.
