Second thought (if you haven't looked at the Oceanic website this may not make sense) is that the Oceanic website shows they departed from gate 15 when they really departed from gate 23, and that flight 815 arrived in LA under an alert status. How did the plane land if it crashed on Mystery Island?
Aha! It does say that the flight arrived in LA, however, on Driveshaft's website it says the plane disappeared. It just disappeared off the radar and no one knows what happened to it. So according to that website the plane didn't land in LA.

Refresh my memory...were Hurley, Sun, and Jin in Australia? Sun and Jin are Korean, right? Hurley lived in LA, didn't he? Why were they in Australia?

Ok, so I'm at work & don't have much to do so I am going through the Driveshaft site & I just ran into something really funny. Under music, the Executive Producer on the 2 first albums is -- Art Vandelay. :rotfl: Any Seinfeld fans out there?

Hurley was in australia because of the numbers - went to find the guy (Sam?) in the outback who had won the lottery before him with the same numbers. Not sure why Sun and Jin were there, but she had planned on leaving him at the airport

My memory is kind of foggy about Sun and Jin, but I think his business took him there.

I couldn't find anything on the Driveshaft website that said it was affiliated with ABC or the writers/creators of the show. I also couldn't find a link from ABC to the site. I asked in the email I sent to the "webmistress" if it was affiliated in any way. I haven't received a response yet.

:rotfl: Was Buck Naked a producer too?

hmmm good question - we know what he was asked to do once there but not why he was there in the first place....

Weren't Sun and Jin on their way to L.A. to bring that watch? Maybe Austrailia was their layover from Korea. I'm not sure about my geography, so I don't know if that would make sense.

As far as Sayid, wasn't he working for the U.S. government to help capture the bombers?

Sayid was flown to sydney to make frieds with his old college roomate (who was there) for FBI in exchange for info on his old girlfried
a couple things i noticed from the season finale re-run:

someone needs to confirm this, but i believe there were 15 beeps from when sawyer puts the radar on "sayid said every hour" and the commercial.

if the Others weren't at the black smoke, wouldn't that mean that all the Others were in fact the Gordon Fishermen? Meaning that there are 4 Others since Ethan was killed?
Last time I checked 36 was still bigger than 4. So the only reason that the Lostaways are afraid of the others is b/c the Lostaways don't know that they have a lot more people than the Others

4 people blow up hatch

Also needs conformation: There were 8 steps attached in hatch. the 9th was no connected

I watched the finale again. Once again, I got chills when the boat pulled up. Before they did the flare, I kept yelling at them not to...hoping that the would change their mind this time. ;)

After watching this again...there's NO WAY that black "smoke" is JUST smoke. It was moving with a purpose.

Does anyone think that Charlie actually consumed some of the drugs? He was out of breath and barely keeping up with Sayid but after their stop at the plane, Charlie seemed to have a lot more "energy".

nah . . . they want us to think he's high, but i think he just took the head of the statue (remember that we didn't see that he had the whole statue!) as a reminder how far he's come.

"They are NOT the Survivors, they thought they were"

What does everybody make of that???

OK, would it not be HYSTERICAL, if the Survivor's went on a quest through the jungle, and came across Jeff Probst and a Tribal Council? Jeff would announce to grab a torch, and someone get's voted off! :rotfl:

OK, maybe not funny....but the thought of it is funny!

I don't think he took the drugs either. They would show something like that, I think. They just want to keep us guessing.

I actually wasn't too impressed with the season finale. I'm very disappointed with the creature. And the "others" on the boat was totally predictible. I guess it's good that I won't really be craving it over the summer.

LOL I think they originally got the idea of the show from the survivor shows

Why was Sayid in Sydney?

From the transcript of the episode "The Greater Good"

Flashback.

[Sayid at Heathrow airport in handcuffs being escorted by two guards to a room with intelligence agents from CIA and ASIS.]

Airport Announcer [while Sayid is being led by the guards]

Heathrow airport authority reminds traveling passengers that safety regulations require. . .

Agent Cole -Okay, Sayid, 18 hours in a holding cell should be enough. Let's get to it, shall we? I'm Melissa Cole from Central Intelligence, this is Robbie Hewitt from ASIS. We're here because you're going to do us a favor.

Sayid - A favor?

Agent Hewitt - Last week 300 pounds of C-4 explosives were stolen from an army base outside of Melbourne. The men responsible are members of a terrorist cell intent on disrupting the coalition presence in Iraq. 300 pounds of C-4 - I want it back.

Sayid [to Agent Cole] -You're the CIA, plant a few bugs.

Agent Cole -Oh, we have. But you're going to get inside for. . .

Sayid - I am Iraqi. I am not a terrorist.

Agent Cole - We didn't snatch you up because you are a terrorist, Sayid. We snatched you up because you know one.

Agent Hewitt - Essam Tazia, your roommate at Cairo University. He's a member of the cell.

Sayid - And why should I care?

Agent Hewitt - You'd be saving lives.

Sayid - I repeat, why should I care?

Agent Cole - Because we know where she is. 7 years since you left Iraq - 6 months here, 3 months there - always moving. There's only two reasons a man would do that, Sayid. Either he's running away from something, or looking for something. [She shows Sayid a picture of Nadia.] Noor Abed-Jazeem

He was sent to Australia by the CIA and ASIS. They actually picked him up in the airport in London (Heathrow) and held him for 18 hours before telling him what they wanted.
