LOST.Discuss the current episodes SEASON PREMIERE Wednesday!!!!

Bumping this up the the afternoon/evening crowd!

I just watched my tivo-ed Lost. What a good episode! The character development is great! Very mysterious--will they find the back end of the plane someday?? (and Rose's husband?) What did Locke see--the monster? How will they get food and water? In the previews it showed the pregnant women being carried by someone so it looks like she faints or something. Can't wait 'til next Wednesday! Who's betting the handsome doctor doesn't fall off the cliff?

I am so hooked on this show!!! Totally loved the character development of Mr. Locke last night. I too want to know how he got away from the creature and why he lied when Jack asked him if he saw it. It seemed to me like he did.
Who is the guy in the bushes? I don't think he's someone from the plane crash. Wouldn't he have approached them by now? Maybe someone who was stranded on the island before? Weird.
I personally think the Korean couple can speak English (or at least understand it). I think they are just not for some reason. Maybe the husband will get eaten by the thing and then the wife and Walt's dad will get together.
Tinks -- I'm betting the doctor doesn't fall off the cliff!

I'm thinking the doctor may have a concussion or something - that's why he's seeing the guy in the suit and white tennis shoes?!?

I had guessed that Locke must have been paralyzed/in a wheelchair at some point in his life when he "goes off" on the young co-worker about not ever telling what he cannot do. But I never guessed he went to Austraila for a walkabout while in a wheel chair.

My one worry about this show was that there wouldn't be enough of a story to sustain this show beyond one season. But since they are really focusing on 8-10 characters now and and supposedly there are 48 survivors - it just might work for a few seasons.

Any idea how many people are actually stranded on this island? The final scene last night did not look like 48 people - so maybe Rose's husband and other survivors are alive somewhere??

Supposedly there are 48 survivors in all. I don't think they show all of them all the time. There are only a few main characters so that's who the show is focused on.

As far as Locke goes, I liked that storyline. He's portrayed as this lowly office grunt worker who has to call in one of those 1-900 number just for companionship then comes to have a miracle after the crash. That was cool.

I think when he was hunting, he didn't see the monster, only the trees shaking as it came towards him. But I think he stepped to the side and when he was there, the boar piglet came charging by and that's how he killed it.

Very interesting show, and definitely fast paced.

Great show, I had NEVER Guessed that Locke was in a wheelchair, this show has me fooled!::yes:: I am glad its on at 8:00pm, hope they leave it there.

This is one series where you cannot afford to miss one episode! I just got done watching this week's episode with DH. We are both hooked!!
I'm waiting for the doc's past to come out. I don't think he's going to be immune from some surprises.
Locke...hum, there's something really creepy about him that would make me keep one eye open while I slept with him around!
I really like Sahid. He's determined and not sitting back and waiting for someone else to figure a way to get help.
If anyone dies next week, which I'm not so sure will happen, I hope it's the blond snotty girl that was traveling with her brother. I just want to ring her neck!!
I'm waiting for the druggie to go into withdrawls. Won't that be fun for everyone.
I agree with decker96 that the Korean couple probably understand English and may even speak English but haven't yet for some reason. Where was the obnoxious husband anyhow?!
Okay, enough for now. I'm so excited about this show!! I can't wait until next week!!!!!

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I think Locke did see the "monster" and the monster killed the piglet, not Locke. Gosh, Locke's boss was soooo mean to him. He is an intriguing character.

I really like Sahid too. I really can't stand the blonde sister, Shannon I think her name is. She's a real witch.

There are a lot of people around, I saw a woman last night I had never seen before. It is interesting to think that there are more survivors somewhere else on the island.

That man in the bushes was creepy. Was he wearing a tux? I'm starting to think this is going to be like the Island of Dr. Moreau (sp?).

I am definitely hooked, can't wait til next Weds!

I originally thought Locke was creepy, but now I'm more of the thought that he is just sad and lonely (and a little nuts). I felt so bad for him last night, I was actually sad when I thought he died.

DH and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! I have class on Wed night, so he tivos it for me and we watch together when I get home.

Did anyone else notice that the guy in the bushes seemed to be barefoot? It makes it much more likely that he is actually there as opposed to a figment of Jack's imagination.

I think Locke did see the monster but has a reason for not talking about it. Also, I think the monster killed the boar, not him.

Can't wait for next week!

I can't believe it took me so long to find this thread! Bear with me as I've just read all 12 pages at once and I've been waiting for someone to talk about this show with! Here is 12 pages and 4 (?) episodes-worth of stream of consciousness about this show:

First of all, having a Korean husband, I can tell you that the way the Korean man is acting isn't that far off the mark. He basically reminds me of all my male in-laws. Stating it in the most positive way, basically as the head of the household, they "help" by guiding others' behavior. Love is shown in a very understated way, like when the character brushes his wife's hair off her face while she's sleeping. I would be extremely surprised if the wife ended up with Walt's dad as that would be a combination of two of the ultimate taboos for a Korean woman (cheating on husband, outside of race). But then again, it would be good drama. So who knows?

If this monster turns out to be an actual monster instead of an ape or a tiger or whatever, I'd be disappointed. I guess it just seems like a cheap way out.

I think everyone's hallucinating other survivors because they're REALLY hungry. I don't think there are any other survivors.

I am also enamored of Dominic. I think he or Sayid will be the next one featured. The plot twist with Locke really threw me, too.

Does anyone else think the pregnant girl is pretty flat-chested for a 9-months pregnant woman? I thought those things normally swelled.....

I think the guy wearing the suit is Jack's father who recently died. I think he sees him in that suit because that is how he last saw him in a casket. He isn't barefoot though. He is wearing white shoes. Why he would wear white shoes with a dark suit, I don't know. There was a camera scan of a white shoe in a tree after the crash in the first episode. Maybe that is just a coincidence though.

Just watched my tape with the last episode on it.

I think Locke must have had some kind of hysterical paralysis or he would never have been able to walk again. (but if he hadnt walked for four years....he never would have been able to get up and just walk......ok...I know....overanalyzing.......the nurse in me...LOL!) I really like his character though....and I think he did see the monster (and it killed the pig).

I just hope the monster doesnt turn out to be something cheesy like a dinosaur or fake thing.

I think the guy in the suit may be a hallucination for Jack. I did notice the white tennis shoe thing and remember the white shoe in the tree too.

When I first started watching this show....I have to admit...I thought OK....lost on an island...what are they going to do with this?.........but I am really enjoying the character development and the different twists every week.

and I hope that Rose's husband turns up alive! That would be very powerful if she really did know that he was still alive.

I think they are the ones that are dead ::yes::

or...maybe not!

I love this series - you just never know what's going to happen! My whole family is glued to the TV every Wednesday night!

Have to agree! Love this series too.
I too, hope that the monster isn't something stupid & that Rose's husband is alive.

Maybe it was the Six Flags Great Adventure guy :teeth:

I like how Terry O' Quinn is playing against character. He usually plays the strong, military type. (Any fans of JAG will recognize him).

Yes, I immediately recognized him from JAG. Still trying to get that character out of my mind when I see him on Lost! ::yes::

Interesting idea! Maybe they are all spirits that refuse to leave because they either don't want to be dead or don't realize it yet. Sort of like Bruce Willis in that movie where he was dead and didn't realize it.

Hmmmm...I'm glad to see that others think that the "monster" killed the boar and not Locke.

There are just so many intriguing things with this show.

DH THINKS he knows what Kate did and I have to wonder if he's right.
