Lost another pair last night. It is strange how you can just tell when your shoes are done. I knew they didn't have long, but on my run last night I knew they were gone. Moment of silence please.

They served me well. In the last few months I used these pretty much for my short runs since they had many miles on them. Don't feel too bad for me as I still have 2 active pair at home. I'm waiting to buy a new pair in September then another in November for Disney.

But I find it strange. All of a sudden, you know your shoes are finished. Some people at work asked me how I could tell when I need new shoes. They only thing I can tell them is I can just feel it. Anyone else feel this way?

I understand your grief. :sad: Take heart in that they had a good life, a life spent bringing your goals and dreams to life.

I agree with just knowing. I knew the last time I would be able to wear my last pair and if there was any question on if I was wrong or not that was put to rest by putting them on one day because it was raining and I didn't want to mess up my newer ones just yet :rolleyes1 BIG difference.

My thoughts are with you and your shoes. :flower3: that and your wallet as I am also hunting down a newer pair to replace the deceased pair. I think my wallet is crying more than I :scared:

I too lost a good pair of shoes this week :sad1: This is the first time I have worn out a pair of shoes and I didn't see it coming but I started getting shin pain a few weeks back I didn't think much of it but it got worse so I took them into the store and she said I might as well be running bare foooted!! 2 new pairs for me, with new insoles and a nice new hole in my wallet :scared:

I am so sorry Duane.....they served you well. May they RIP:hug:

I was in the same boat last week and had to break down and get new ones.

What Duane, you don't wear them until your socks are showing through on the bottom?

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing:

duane- i'm very sorry and can literally hear the money draining out of your wallet, he he he. As you said, you were close, knew each other so well that you knew when it was time. I actually don't have that yet- wonder when you learn those things.

Will you keep them for random walks or car washing or are they on their way to trainer heaven?

Thanks everyone for your condolences. I knew you would understand.

I haven't bought the new pair yet, it is just too soon :) I m keeping them in the garage for yard work.

enjoy,
Duane

Our marathon clinic collects used running shoes and children's clothing, and ships them off to an orphanage in the Philippines.

Check in your area if there is any similar programs.:thumbsup2
