Now for the generic copied and often used rules...

• Whenever possible, we all agree to do a face-to-face transfer of the fridge, to minimize the risk of it getting lost. Unless you make specific arrangements with the swapper before and/or after you, it is YOUR responsibility to return the fridge to the luggage desk (not the registration desk). You MUST GET A RECEIPT/CLAIM CHECK and contact the person after you with the ticket number. Please seal the claim check in an envelope and leave it at the front desk with the next person's name, arrival date and reservation number. Please make sure you write down the number first and also call the next person with the number, in case the envelope gets lost.
  
  [*]Please take a marker,tape, and a sign/paper with you so you can write the name of the swap/name of the guest/conformation number/dates/ and phone number for them.
  
  [*]Please contact the swapper before you to exchange information.
  
  [*]NEVER leave the fridge in your room at the end of your stay as it will end up in Mousekeeping inventory or the mousekeeper will assume it was left behind (even when labeled for the next swapper) and will take it home!
  
  [*]Get claim tickets so you have proof it was dropped off! DO NOT call for the fridge to be picked up from your room by bell services unless you PLAN TO WALK with the cast member and escort the fridge to the bell desk and get a claim ticket!!!
  
  [*]Always clearly/securely label the box (I don’t think we have a box right now) with the next swappers information even if swapping in person. The info should include first/last name of reservation, check-in date, Resort name and cell phone number if available.
  
  [*]PLEASE DEFROST AND DRY OUT THE FREEZER/FRIDGE the day before if you are putting it in storage. To do this unplug it and set a towel or two at the bottom of the fridge. Leave the door slightly cracked. no one wants a moldy/wet/stinky fridge!
  
  [*]NEVER tip the fridge over or lay it down as it will RUIN the compressor = won't work!!
  
  [*]The success of this swap depends on each one of us doing our part to keep it running smoothly. If you are arriving in less than 2 weeks and don't know who you are swapping to/from, contact me or the user on the list immediately. Please take this swap seriously as others are depending on being able to use the fridge for their stay.
  
  [*]I cannot and will not be responsible for lost/stolen/damaged fridge. We hope for honest, responsible swappers but I cannot guarantee it. I run this swap out of the kindness of my heart and spend a great amount of time organizing it but I cannot control others actions.
  
  [*]If you require cast member assistance to get the fridge to/from your room, please remember to tip them! They are doing us a huge favor by storing the fridge for us.
  
  [*]When asking for the fridge at the bell desk, be persistent if they "can't" find it. Describe it (I will provide the description to each swapper privately) and tell the castmember when it was left for you and by whom. Don't panic if it's not there as occasionally it will magically appear in your room without asking for it. You also have the right to LOOK for yourself in the storage room if you feel the CM is not looking sufficiently.*Communication is the key to a successful swap. Please don't wait until you have been home for 2 weeks to let me know that you couldn't find the fridge. Time is precious and the longer it is missing the harder it will be to find.

The fridge is now FREE to everyone who joins!

This swap is at Pop Century Resort.

Remember, you need to contact the people on the list right before you and right after you to coordinate pick-up and drop off times. If you do not have face to face contact with someone then you will need to drop off the fridge with Luggage Services and get a claim slip from them. HOLD on to your CLAIM SLIP!! You will need to attach the next persons full name and arrival date to the fridge box so that the person who arrives next has a package (fridge) waiting for them at luggage services.
The more time that our fridge is in luggage services the more likely it is to get lost....SO let's try to keep the amount of time in luggage services to a minimum!

If you do NOT pick up the fridge for any reason you MUST tell me ASAP. If the fridge cannot be found it is most likely buried in luggage services somewhere. When I find out two swappers back that the fridge had not been found, then it is very difficult for me to help the current person. If you need to describe the box to luggage services, it is in the original box (see pictures) and has bright sheets of paper attached to the sides that say "Last Minute Fridge Swap". If anyone changes the box (it probably needs it)...then please tell me so that I can update the description.

Currently (still as of 3/26/2009), our fridge does not have a box!

RULES!

1. This swap depends on the honesty and integrity of the swappers! Please don't volunteer if you aren't planning on following through!

2. It is easier to swap from DISer to DISer and is much less likely for the fridge to get lost if we do it this way. When it does have to go behind the front desk or in Luggage Services make sure that the person's information (Name, Date of Arrival, Confirm. #) is attached to the box to make it easier to locate! We will also put some stickers to make the box easier to locate.
It is your responsibility to get contact information for the person before and after you. You coordinate with the person you are exchanging with the time that you would like to meet to *swap* the refrigerator!

3. When/if the refrigerator is lost/broken/stolen/ or if you cancelled your trip last minute, etc, etc..if you are one of the original few who has to pitch in a few bucks at the beginning...I cannot REFUND your money, sorry!

4. Wipe down, clean out the fridge before swapping...PLEASE

The are lots of goodies to be enjoyed and a place to leave those items you just don't want to take back home!

The PIF box recently contained: laundry soap, clorox wipes, wet ones, kitchen sponges, clothes pins, hand sanitizer, first aid supplies, rain ponchos, ground coffee, instant grits, drink mix packets (peach ice tea flavor), lanyards (to hold your Key to the World card), coin purses, window clings, kids toys, stickers, glow sticks, a 6 pocket organizer (use a pants hanger to hang in the closet as a pantry or for toiletry storage), novels, and MUCH MUCH MORE!
