Heading to Los Angeles in July. OF course, we are going to Disneyland but what else should we do while we are there?

We are WDW regulars and have been to Disney in Paris so we decided to check out Disneyland for the first time. How many days do we need to do everything in the parks?

There are tons of ideas on the Dis Disneyland board for things to do in the area. Most people there will say 2 days or so to do both parks, but my family happily spent 4 very fun and relaxing days there so I guess it depends on the ages of your family, your pace, etc. We like to have time to do things more than once and enjoy ourselves.

If you've never had one, or don't have one in your city I would suggest Sprinkles Cupcakes. They are so yum! Best cupcakes I've had in a long time and I LOVE to bake. I can make amazing cupcakes but they are never as delish as Sprinkles. There's one in Beverly Hills, there's always a line, but so worth it.

Last time we were in LA we went to the Tar pits, drove through Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, Griffin Observatory, the park across from the Hollywood sign (you climb a huge hill and end up with a perfect view, I just can't remember the name) it's a park people use to run, shopped at the Beverly center, LA Farmer's Market (it's open daily and has great shops and delicious food), and had amazing meals at fancy restaurants ;).

We did 2 full days at Disneyland. This allowed us to do both parks, take in Fantasmic and World of Color, ride everything and take in the parks. I felt the parks were much less crowded than a normal day at WDW. A friend of mine lives in LA and said she hates summers at DL because it's so packed but I find that their version of packed is very different than my version of packed.

Well first, as a PP suggested, you should come down the boards and visit us in the DL section. :) There will be loads of posts there that will help you immensely!! :) Second, don't be afraid to stay at DL for 4 days, in fact 4 days is the minimum I suggest as I feel it lets you tour without rushing and you'll have time to do things you really liked again and again. :) Also, keep in mind that CarsLand is opening this summer so it will be busy! There will be no way around it, it will just be busy. There are many things to do in the area, drop by the DL boards and let us help you figure it all out!

Knotts Berry farm nice theme park not to miss mrs knotts chicken Santa Monika pier ride the loveley vintage carasel.

Carsland is going to make Disneyland Resort packed this summer. We will be there just before you! We were WDW vets who found Disneyland back in 2007 and fell in love with it! It is our favorite park now! Your probably going to need at least 4 days to see most of it. Disneyland/DCA has as many rides and attractions in two parks as WDW has!

When we go to DL/Socal we love to visit...
Newport Beach/Corona Del Mar
Go down to San Diego and visit Hotel Del Coronado (think Grand Floridian before it was ever a dream!)
Griffith Observatory
Wasn't impressed with Hollywood
Catalina Island
so much more...

If you ever get back out to California you have to drive up to Yosemite National Park. It is truly heaven on earth.

Have fun and be ready to fall in love with Disneyland like my family did.
