Los Angeles info needed

We are taking a cruise out of Los Angeles.

Can anyone help me with a few questions ....

what is the best way to get from LAX to a hotel in San Pedro?

Also we need to get from the Cruise terminal back to LAX after the cruise.

Anybody have any recommendations for a hotel in the San Pedro, CA area for a one night pre-cruise stay?

I was going to recommend the Sheraton hotel in San Pedro, but it appears that it's no longer a Sheraton. Just called the Los Angeles Harbor Hotel now, but it's still probably your best bet. Also, the Best Western Sunrise hotel would do the trick. They're both within walking distance of the Cruise Ship Terminal (within 10-15 minutes walk). The hotels might offer a shuttle to/from LAX, or you could go with Super Shuttle (you can make reservations, so they'll be there to get you when you need them).
