Loosen your belt buckle-We're doing Deluxe Dining!Our 12/10 PTR!Update 12/18 TR Start

Sorry for the slight delay in our mini TR...life got in the way! I'm here with the next installment! Enjoy!

When I left off we were taking the mandatory picture of the castle upon entering MK and the sky was looking not so magical.

We walked up Main Street USA and Olivia (and I) oohed and ahhed over the castle and then made a right into Tomorrowland, followed by a quick left past Stitch's Great Escape and Cosmic Rays. Then we raced past the Tomorrowland Speedway and spun past the Teacups. We had reached our destination: Toontown and Goofy's Barnstormer.

Olivia has been OBSESSED with this ride since she was finally tall enough to ride it this past March. Of all the times she has ridden it, she has never been with Toby, so I wanted to make sure she got the chance to ride with him. I'm not sure if I have mentioned it, but to say Toby is not a roller coaster fan would be the understatement of the century! He is still not sure if he likes the Barnstormer!

We hopped in line and withing a couple of minutes it was our turn. I sat in the car in front of Toby and Olivia so I could get some pictures of the two of them. Here is a glimpse at our adventure:

I love how terrified Toby looks in this one (even if it is only half of his head...)
033.jpg

And after the ride. Olivia has the biggest smile, and Toby looks like he cannot wait to get off!
034.jpg

After we saw the skies, we drastically cut down our want to do list. Honestly the only thing we felt like we "had" to do was Goofy's Barnstormer and we had done it! Woo Hoo!

Since you can't (well at least we can't) go to Disney without a visit to Mickey and Minnie in the Judge's tent that was our next stop.

Here are Olivia and Daddy, super excited to see Mickey and Minnie!

It's our turn!

Once we had our fix of the main mouse and his Mrs, Olivia wanted to see Cinderella. We walked over to the Toontown Hall of Fame to see what the wait was to check out the royal ladies. 60 minutes! I should mention now that the past 3 times we have waited in line to see ANY face character Olivia has been super nervous when it was finally our turn and ended up not talking or interacting at all. She never cried, just wouldn't go within 3 feet of them, let alone smile for a picture. With this knowledge in the back of my mind, there was no way I was waiting an hour. As we turned around to leave, the CM working the entrance asked who we wanted to see. After I explained the situation to her, she said I didn't need to wait since she had noticed our GAC that I wear on my lanyard. *Note: We have the GAC for several reasons but only use it when it is REALLY necessary, and have never used it for character meets before.* The lovely CM gave us a card and told us to go and wait at the exit and another CM would come and get us. We literally walked right to the exit and the CM was waiting for us. We were walked right in to the Princess greeting area and had about 3 people in front of us. The royalty on duty that afternoon was: Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora. I was really apprehensive about Olivia's reaction this time around. I'll just let the pictures tell the story:

She LOVED them!!! She talked to each of them about anything and everything and each lady got a huge hug! Sorry for the crappy pictures...Toby was on camera duty. The Photopass guys got much better pictures, but I can't bring myself to spend that much money on a couple of pictures when I know we will be back in a couple of months and I am planning on buying the CD then.

After my princess got hugs from her favorite princess, we decided to head out of Toontown and over to the Castle Couture shop. Any guesses why we were headed there? This one might be tricky. I'll give you a clue.....we were not going to spend a single cent on what Olivia wanted to do there.

Love the update!!!! I remember the first time Emma would go near the princesses.. it was like heaven to watch!

Can't wait to find out what you are doing at the castle couture shop

I have been waiting SO long for Olivia to love the princesses! I was really hoping she would before our December trip since we will be eating at 1900 Park Fare! When we went this past January, we ate at Akershus and she wanted nothing to do with them!

I won't make everyone wait too long....but I want to make sure that the few readers I have, can make a guess!

YAY for Double Digits!!! Loving the report!!! Man I can not wait for December to get here!!! :goodvibes

Thanks! I cannot wait for December either! Right now it seems like a million years away!

What is the Castle Couture shop? Off to look it up....

It is the shop that used to be known as Tinkerbell's Treasures. It is behind the castle across from Sir Mickeys. It was turned in to the photography place for the BBB.

nice update with the princesses!!!!

hmm..I wonder why you went into the shop?? I don't know if tinkerbell is in there or not anymore..did she go to find some pixie dust?!

CONGRATS on getting down to double digits! I am only seventeen days away and I will finally be there too!!

Love the update! Olivia did a great job with the princesses! :lovestruc And can I just say, that Belle is really pretty!

DING! DING! DING! You win! I should have figured you would know! Yep, you can go into the shop and any of the CMs working will pull out their wand filled with Pixie Dust and sprinkle some on your little princess! I found this out by accident a few trips ago, and we have done it ever since!

I didn't know they did that. Something else to add to the secret must do list. When it was tinkerbell's treasure's the first kid to ask to wake up tinkerbell got to do the wakeup ceremony. I never told my daughter, good thing since I couldn't be the first one in. One morning I sprinted while carrying my daughter to the store at rope drop. They had a rope in the castle, and there were probably 30-40 people already there. Must have been the early ADR people. Of course, now I have early ADR's and they don't do that anymore. Bummer.

Yep,I love that they do this now! It is just something simple and little, but Olivia loves it! I like that it is free of charge and anyone could walk in and do it. I think they even do it for the boys but call it pirate dust or something. Just a warning though, we did this LAST Sunday (as in 9 days ago), and there is still some in Olivia's hair!! Yes, she is bathed daily :rotfl:

What a fun update! I love that she loves Barnstormer, even if her daddy did not! So glad the princess meet went well! Her smile with Aurora makes me grin!

Pixie dust sounds like such a fun little treat!

Hi there! Enjoyed the PTR plus your recent quick getaway. Looking forward to reading more of your posts. We had a fantastic time in 2001 when we were at WDW for over a week the 2nd week of December. The weather was in the 80's during the day, and low 70's upper 60's at night - PERFECT!!! :surfweb:

Hi guys! I'm back for a quick update. When we last left off, Olivia had just gotten lots of princess love and was on a mission to the Castle Couture shop.... Megan guessed right and is the winner of, well nothing (except the satisfaction)! :rotfl:

We we walked out of the Toontown Hall of Fame it had started to drizzle so we walked pretty quickly to the stroller and got Olivia in to keep her dry. I have to say the rain covers for strollers are AWESOME! We love ours, and living her in Florida we certainly get good use out of it (Sunshine State my butt! It should be called the Raining while the sun is shining state). Anyway, Olivia was dryly tucked in her stroller and then Toby and I just stood there "arguing" over who would get the lone poncho that was in the stroller pocket. (While packing, I had realized that I could only locate 1 of our WDW ponchos and had totally forgot to run to Target and grab another 1). I didn't really mind getting a little wet, and he said he just didn't want to get his shoes wet. I kinda thought he really did want the poncho, but did NOT want the looks from other people as to why he was dry under a poncho and his poor wife was getting wet!! :rotfl: After that, we headed out of Toontown and into Fantasyland, towards the Castle Couture shop.

For those of you who didn't catch it in the earlier post, we were headed here so Olivia could get her sprinkling of Pixie Dust for the trip! We discovered this a few trips ago when we were checking out princess dresses in the store and one of the CMs were Pixie dusting another little girl. Olivia saw this and immediately asked for her "Picky Dust", and thus the tradition was born! I should warn you, I have no pictures of the Pixie dusting process. I know, :scared1: In my defense I had taken the camera off my neck and put it into the backpack to keep in dry in the rain (which turned into a monsoon between Toontown and Castle Couture). Also inside the backpack were 2 frozen juiceboxes, which is where the problem was. I pulled the camera out when we got in the shop and the lense immediately fogged up! Oh no! Between the temperature differences and the humidity, it was hopeless. All I got was this pic taken after she was dusted and we were waiting for the monsoon to slow down a bit. If you look closely you can see the glitter in her hair.
054.jpg

After a couple of minutes we decided to make a run for it. The small store was so filled with people, we could hardly move! The only request Toby ever has at MK is Hall of Presidents. He loves history and no matter how many times we see this show, it never gets old....to him. I knew it wasn't too far away so we made sure Olivia was totally covered and off we were! We made a mad dash down the walkway next to the castle and hung a quick right at the bottom and dove for cover under the awnings. By this time we were DRENCHED! Olivia was dry as a bone and I'm pretty much sure she was laughing at us fools! We parked the stroller and headed in the building to find the next show was less than 10 minutes away! Woo Hoo! We also found that the temperatures were SUB ZERO! I know it was because we were so wet, but come on! Olivia enjoyed being out of her stroller and having some freedom. She was being quite the ham!

057.jpg

A bad picture, but proof I was there!
056.jpg

Olivia sat really well through the show and I didn't hear a peep out of her the whole time! When we made our way out, it was still raining, but not nearly as hard as it was, yeah!! It was about 5:45 by now and Olivia was long overdue for a potty stop! We started to work our way to the front of the park and made a pit stop at the RR in the walkway between Frontierland and Adventureland. I have to say, I may be weird, but these are my favorite RRs in all of MK! Especially since they recently refurbished them!

After the RR break, we decided to make our way to the front of the park so we could catch the monorail to Epcot for the MMC party!

Up next, my favorite monorail ride and some time in Future World!

I just wanted to throw in a few quick life updates since this PTR has temporarily been taken over by my mini TR!
*We are going to Disney on Ice: Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey next Saturday!!!!! We went another DoI back in May, and it was great! Olivia loved every minute of it and kept asking to go ice skating after that. We got AMAZING seats for this show. We are right at then end, 6 rows up! I love these shows, but the souvenirs are even more expensive than Disney!!!
*I'm SO ready for this crummy summer heat to be done! I really can't stand living here in Florida, mainly b/c of the lack of seasons and cold weather! I am seriously considering taking a winter vacation to Wisconsin. Which brings me to my next asterisk...
*Our winter/spring vacation. Toby gets 2 weeks of vacation starting next week. Obviously one of those weeks is for Disney in December, the second week is the one in debate. We are looking at February for this trip. At this point we have 2 options out there. The first is to take a trip up to Wisconsin to see my family. We have done this when Olivia was 3 months old and it was fantastic! The positive about this vacation, is that we would only have to pay for airfare since we could stay with family for free. Also, COLD weather!!!!! The negative, spending the whole time with family that has the potential to annoy us!! LOL! The second option is a cruise! Neither of us have ever been on a cruise before and I would love to go. The positives, it's a cruise- duh! We have never been on a cruise and have been talking about it for a while. The negatives, more expensive that Wisconsin. No COLD weather! So, what do you guys think?
*I know it's only September 2, but I'm thinking about Halloween costumes for Olivia. Here is my dilemma, she wants to dress as Cinderella and we already have a Cinderella dress (the one for BBB in December). I am debating buying another dress to wear for Halloween just in case she messes it up. I would hate to buy one and not need it and then be out that money. I just don't know!! :confused3

That is about all of our "excitement" around here! How is everyone else doing?

If Wisconsin doesn't work out, I don't see any reason why a Disney Cruise shouldn't be an option.

I agree with you about those Souvenirs at shows. Even the few Elmo shows we have gone to have cost us a fortune in stupid toys that they don't play with after a couple of days.

I had no idea either that they did that! Definately on my list of things to do now -- for all of us girls!

Loving your mini TR updates, I'm all caught up again. Too funny on the "proof you were there" photo. That's the biggest reason I'm using photopass this upcoming trip - I'm not in 99% of our vacation pics.

Oh and I also think if a Wisconsin trip doesn't work out, you should definately take the cruise. :thumbsup2

really? Pixie Dust? I didn't know that either :headache:

So do you just go in and ask (and will they dust adults too???):)

I'm pretty sure that I'm leaning towards Wisconsin right now, but if not the cruise is sounding nicer and nicer! I have never cruised before, but I have heard that if you book last minute you can get great rates. True? How about airfare if we end up going to WI? I have never flown last minute before so I have no idea if you can get great rates just so they can fill the plane? Ahh, so many questions!

As for the outrageous prices at the show...my mom is coming with us this time so we can have a girls only outing, and I know that she has a hard time saying no to Olivia! :rotfl:

Wow! I'm so glad I'm letting other people in on my accidental discovery! My favorite thing is that it is free!!!!

Glad you are liking the mini TR! My DH doesn't understand why anyone would care about our vacation enough to read about it! :rotfl: The whole picture thing is funny! Not that I particularly love having my picture taken, but I would like to have some proof that I was there! We are definitely using PP this trip as well, and I plan to REALLY get my money out of it. I think it will help that we are doing BBB and those pictures will be included as well. It makes it a bit easier to swallow the $100!

I'm definitely thinking the cruise is a great back-up plan! Have you ever cruised before? I am so in the dark when it comes to traveling beyond WDW!!! I will have to start researching it (although I have no dates yet, and it will probably be VERY last minute-like decide and then leave a few days later!).:rotfl:

really? Pixie Dust? I didn't know that either :headache:

Yep! They will Pixie Dust ANYONE!!! Just go in and ask, it's really that simple! I really love that it's totally free and makes those little (and big) princesses who can't do the BBB still feel like royalty!

love all the trip updates! so glad you got to get her in to see the princesses and she interacted this time!!

you reminded me about the GAC card, I think we are going to ask for one for my mom on this DL trip - she is almost blind (brain tumor) and has a real issue seeing (might have her in a wheelchair, walking with her cane is hard in crowds as she is new at it)- at least maybe it could help her sit up front for a few of the shows. Like you, we don't want to use it beyond what we would really actually need it for.

i can't wait to hear the next installmenta nd see if you guys dry off!!

We made our way to the front of the park and headed up the ramp towards the monorail and we only had to wait about 2 minutes for ours to come! Olivia told me to take a picture of her monorail, so here you go, a crummy, foggy monorail picture!
059.jpg

I don't know what got in to her, but Olivia was being a total looney tune the whole way! She was literally swinging from the bars and acting crazy! Toby and I were cracking up and we got some pretty funny pictures. Good thing the only other people in our car we amused by her antics as well!

After the great ride, we hopped off and headed towards "the big ball" as Olivia calls it. Of course we had to take some pictures in front of it. She was still being terribly silly and kept sticking her tongue out when I would tell her to smile. I did manage to get a couple of cute ones though.
068.jpg

067.jpg

I love this next one...
066.jpg

By this time it was about 6:15 and we headed over to check in for the MMC party. It was in the pavilion behind Canada. We gave our names and were each given an orange wristband and told to come back at 8:00 for the party.

After we had our wristbands, Toby was pretty hungry so we headed towards the Land pavilion with the intentions of eating at Sunshine Seasons and then riding Living with the Land. I wasn't really hungry, and Olivia wanted another pb&j. Toby ended up getting a sandwich the size of Olivia's head with a side of potato salad and a yellow Powerade. I am sad to say, that I cannot remember exactly what kind of sandwich it was beyond that it was turkey with some kind of mayonnaise with a zing to it. Also sad to say, the only picture of it, is Olivia trying to take a bite:
069.jpg

After dinner and potty breaks, we went to ride Living with the Land, only to find that it was closed down for the night. :guilty: I love this ride and was quite sad it was closed. After getting over that I wouldn't be able to ride LwtL, we headed towards The Seas w/ Nemo & Friends. Olivia has always enjoyed this since she is obsessed with animals and sea life, but she had never seen the movie before this trip. Prior to our trip she became totally obsessed with it! I was curious to see how she would react now that she knew the story of Nemo and all the characters.

The first stop was of course pictures out front!
074.jpg

072.jpg

075.jpg

Next, a picture of the line and our very own clammobile!
076.jpg

077.jpg

Olivia was totally in love with the ride!!! It was so fun to ride with her since she knew exactly what was going on and had a great time trying to find Nemo. When we got off, she ran right over to the big Bruce the shark and wanted to take a picture with him. Who was I to say no?
079.jpg

By now, it was nearing 8:00 so we started to make our way over to the MMC party!!! Notice how dry this update was!!! Woo Hoo! Next up some party fun!
