Loosen your belt buckle-We're doing Deluxe Dining!Our 12/10 PTR!Update 12/18 TR Start

That's so weird. My 4 year old is also named Olivia, and she gets very upset when we laugh at her. She actually yells, STOP LAUGHING, IT WASN'T FUNNY.

Yep, she pretty much did the same thing. She gave me the look (isn't that backwards? Shouldn't the parent be the one giving the look? Anyway....) and told me to "Stop! That's not nice!"!

I wonder if I get her name changed, would it change her personality? I'm thinking Cinderella might be a good choice.

Ooh! That is an amazing idea! The baby names books said Olivia meant peaceful one! Boy, were they wrong! It should have said loud, headstrong and demanding!!

Hey Erin! I'm a newbie to DIS, but in searching around....found your PTR. You have an adorable family by the way! We will be there the same week as you, but we are staying at Wyndham's Bonnet Creek resort (we are owners). I hate that we miss out on all the extra Disney magic, but it does allow us to come down more often since we don't have to pay to stay (well we do, but it's what I call a "budgeted expense"....:lmao:). We have a DS3 (MJ just turned three August 1) and DD1.5 (Leah). I have enjoyed reading about your Disney adventures.

We were there for this same week in December last year and had so much fun. We loved Chef Mickey and did that as our only ADR on that trip.

My mom and I are bringing the kids down for MNSSHP October 1-4 and we are going to Cape May since the kids love Mickey so much. I hope it is good.....I've heard good and bad. But you hear good and bad about everything Disney related. Have you ever done the Halloween party? Any advice for what to do or see first/in what order? We did the Christmas Party last December and it was fun, but I think we'll wait until the kids are older before we go back.

I look forward to the rest of your mini-TR!

Also, I will be heading to Home Depot to get the Mickey head paint swatches for our December countdown. MJ is asking when we are going everyday! I'm going to do a chain for the October trip since it is only 35 days away :cool1:! We'll have to make that this weekend to get him excited.

I'm scared to look at Disney online because I will be buying all sorts of personalized gear for the kids. We want to buy multi-day park tickets for our December trip, so I need to save up the cash.....no extra money for stuff like that right now. It is toooo tempting! I'll just ooh and aah over your purchases. I know it won't be long before I'll be getting the Cinderella dress up stuff and booking BBB session for Leah!

Hi Kristi! Welcome to the DIS and my PTR!!!! It's always nice to have more readers!

How great for you to own at Wyndham's Bonnet Creek resort! We have stayed there before and it is beautiful! I would gladly stay offsite if it meant more trips to WDW! You are quite a brave lady having kiddos that close in age! I don't think I could do it!! My little princess is plenty!

It's nice to hear that our week is a good one. I had many debates with myself about which week to go, and it sounds like I picked a good one! Chef Mickey's is a huge family favorite! We took Olivia there on her first trip at 15 months and she was terrified!!!! I took a chance on our next trip and booked it again and she loved it, so it has become a must do. We switch off between breakfast and dinner since we like them both equally. Which have you done?

Yeah for an October trip!!! We have never done MNSSHP yet. I'm thinking we will next year when Olivia is older and can stay for the whole party. As for Cape May, I have heard the same things, but I guess I will find out for myself! I guess (especially with character meals), I don't go in expecting a gourmet meal that will knock my socks off, so since I don't have the high expectations I can't be let down :confused3 I have honestly never had a bad meal at any Disney restaurant, but maybe because we are not normally used to eating high class meals, so I am happy with simple? I'm really excited for our dining choices for this trip! We have lots of new places to try, and I think that after this trip we will have hit every character meal!

I'm excited you're getting your countdown started! It was lots of fun to do, even though we just did the easy version-stick them on the door! :rotfl: Since we started it, I get a lot less questions of when are we going! Even at almost 3, Olivia understands that when all the Mickey's are gone it's time to go!

Don't even get me started on the Disney store....I am convinced that it sends subliminal messages to buy things!!! I have done really well though! I have not bought anything since the shirt and backpack!!

Once again, welcome again and enjoy the DIS.....it's addicting!

Okay I'm home from work and catching up on the DIS! I am loving your TR!! :thumbsup2

I would love to live only a few hours away from WDW! I can't imagine how amazing that would be! :lovestruc

Oooh...I hope we get a refurbished room when we stay at POP. That room looks really nice!

Glad you are enjoying my TR! Living this close to WDW is awesome! It is actually the only part of living in Florida that I like! Sometimes I am actually jealous of those of you who get to fly in and ride the ME!! The refurbished rooms are really nice! My favorite part is the hooks that are on the wall near the bathroom!

nice mini TR update!!!

Random question, where did you end up hooking up the fridge? I know the room sizes are horribly big and there aren't a ton of outlets either! I didn't see it in your pics so I got curious!! Glad to see you got a refurbished room!!!

Good question! I totally forgot to add where we put it (I know lots of people like to know). When you are facing the tv stand/dresser, the table was to the right and there was a bit of space to the right of the table that the fridge fit nicely in. The outlet was on the wall under the table. It was the perfect place for it. I was able to stack our snacks and breakfast stuff and other misc stuff right on top of the fridge and it was right within reach of the table!

I was glad we got the refurbished room too! I know that they will all be done when we go in December, but I really wanted to have a feel of the new dresser since the drawer space was reduced, and I wanted to see how big the shelf space was so I could grab a couple of canvas cubes from the dollar store that would fit it.

that's a great idea about the cubes!! When I go with my friends in Oct, I am still trying to figure out how we are going to fit 3 girls in a room at POP and now I'm starting to think that the upgrade would have make more sense but they all seem happy with POP so I guess we will make due?? I am the type that loves to unpack and not live out of a suitcase for 4 days but I'm still trying to figure out where we would put 3 large suitcases..it will be an experience I'm sure haha

Hmm, lets see if I can come up with some ideas...
*I found one of those fabric things (organizer?) that you can hang from the closet rod and it has 5 individual shelves at Target (but I have also seen them at craft stores or anyplace that is selling the going away to college stuff right now) for $2.50. They are great! We have them in our closets at home and they are a huge space saver! I'll take a pic and get it up here tomorrow.
*The suitcases should easily fit in the closet up on top on the rack.
*One of the over the door shoe hangers would be great for over the bathroom door to put bathroom items in. Hair brushes, toothbrush/toothpaste...etc. Then the counter won't be cluttered.
That's all I've got for now! If I come up with anything else I'll let you know! I think you guys should be fine at Pop. If we can do it with a 2 year old and all the junk that she requires, I know you can!!!

Glad I could give some good tips! I really wish I would have been on these boards before our first trip! I could have used some of the tips!

I am learning so much. I am glad I stumbled across the Disboards or I would hate to think of what our trip would have been like! :scared1:

I get to double digit dance today!!!! Yep, 99 days!!!! Who wants to dance with me?
:cool1::cool1::cool1::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::banana::banana::banana::yay::yay::yay::dancer::dancer::dancer::jumping1::jumping1::jumping1::jumping3::bounce::Pinkbounc

Well....if you're dancing for hitting 99 days.....then I am too:dancer:party::jumping1:::MickeyMo! We are going down the same day your are!! Woohoo!! Now I don't have to count the days to figure our how many Mickey paint samples I need from Home Depot!!

We did Chef Mickey for dinner last December. I didn't know anything about the boards back then and just planned it all out on my own. I called the ADR number and lucked up and got the last dinner reservation about a month before we left to go down. We wanted to do more but there was nothing to be had. I don't think we are going to do any this December because we want to spend more time in the parks.

I also was not aware that you can get in to the parks at 4pm for the Halloweeen and Christmas parties. I really wish we would have known that in December, but I do know it now.....so, we'll be at MK at 4pm on October 3rd!!

I've learned so much from the boards and from right here on your PTR! I'm going to be on the lookout for glow sticks today on my shopping trip....as well as small souvenirs to break out each night. That way we don't have to spend so much at WDW for those things. I think the older they get....the less that idea will work though. Kids wise up to our tricks pretty quickly :lmao:!

Oh, and we totally didn't plan our little ones to be so close together. Leah was a bit of a surprise ....but she is a complete joy! I'm so happy it all worked out the way it has for our family!

Off to make our Halloween countdown chain!

Yeah for 99 days!!! I really can't believe just how fast the time is going, especially since we booked in February! Since you will be there the same time as us (although I don't know if you have already planned out your park days), there are a bunch of us planning on meeting up at MK on the 6th. There is a thread on here about it, as well as on FB. I will send you the link on FB as well.

You seem to have been quite lucky with Chef Mickey's last December!! I know when we went in February of last year, we took a chance and walked in for dinner and were seated immediately! I guess it helps that it was a slower time of year!

These boards really are great for tons of tips! I am always finding something new! I'm glad I can help out fellow DISers!

I am all for buying souvenirs ahead of time, it really does save TONS of money. We usually buy everything ahead of time and then when we leave the resort in the morning or after our afternoon break one of us goes back in the room and puts a little surprise out for Olivia. She loves this and thinks that Mickey visits our room and brings her presents!

Yay for double digits! :jumping3::jumping3::jumping3::dancer::Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc

Great start to your mini TR. I've never been to Pop but it looks to have a fun atmosphere. Glad you were able to get your room changed.

Thanks for joining me in the dance party!!!

Pop does have a great atmosphere and Olivia loves all the larger than life decor! I really wanted to stay at either AKL or WL this trip, but since it was Olivia's birthday trip, we let her choose and of course she picked Pop (which is fine by me, I have never had any issues with it)! You are going to love AKL!!
