Sorry it's taken so long to finish my trip report. I returned to the real world and it's kicking my behind.....On Tues. we went to AK. I've never spent more than a couple hours there because it's not my favorite, but we spent the entire day there and had a blast! Crowds were mild and we hardly had to wait and when we did we just used FastPass. Ate @Tuskerhouse and it was good and reasonably priced. Had dinner @ASMovies Food Court. ~~~
Wednesday was MGM day. Again, I couldn't believe the ease of going on all of our favorite attractions. My 3 children were picked for the fastest finger seats @Millionaire and I was thrilled! DDIL, Canadian cousin and myself got to sit behind them. I got into the "top 10" once and that was the highlight of my day. We only ate counter service but don't remember anything that wasn't as expected. I was disappointed with the Osborne Lights because they've changed it in anticipation of a new attraction and it just wasn't as enjoyable as in the past. It was only "city streets" and no "neighborhoods" as before. Started raining while in line for Fantasmic, so we decided to leave. The bottom fell out as soon as we did, so I was glad. ~~~
Thanksgiving day was Epcot day. Again, lighter attendance than I predicted, so it was great. Did everything I wanted (opted out of Mission Space because I was chicken after the kids described it) Had Thanksgiving dinner @Garden Grill. It was OK, but not great. We asked for steak that was cooked more done and the server was happy to help. Dessert was delicious (apple/cranberry crisp with vanilla ice cream) I always go "pearl diving" in the Japan pavilion on every trip and have a piece of jewelry made with my pearl. I let my Canadian cousin choose my oyster and I got "twins"!!! I was able to have a beautiful pair of earrings made with them and they will be a wonderful reminder of our trip. ~~~
Friday we hopped "all over the world" ending the day @MGM so we could see Fantasmic. Sadly, DDIL got ill right before it started and we had to leave. CM's were wonderful to us (got us a wheelchair to get to the gate because she was so ill she didn't feel like she could walk that far) and we were able to talk with a nurse @First Aid who reassured us about her symptoms. We left early Saturday morning and drove like crazy in the cold rain to get home. It was a wonderful trip. I had been second guessing the whole going @Thanksgiving (we always go that week) but it was great. MK is more crowded every time I go, but being open 'till midnight every night made a difference for those in our group who were happy to be up that late every night. I hope this will reassure anyone who's not sure about going @Thanksgiving.
