Looking for WW2 hosts of my Grandfather

Hi-- this is a strange one.. but I was wondering if anyone could help me. My late Grandfather, Bill Gagel, was stationed near London during World War II. Recently I was going through his scrapbooks and came across this photograph and description:

"The Birds of Repton Road in Knightsbridge A Modern Suburb of London. I used to stay overnight with them."

I was wondering (and I know this is a long shot...) but is there anyway to find this family or their descendants?

I so appreciate any help you could give me!

Have you tried contacting the local newspaper? Or a genealogy forum?

I've only ever visited London as a tourist so no expert but have to say that doesn't look like typical Knightsbridge housing to me.

Repton Road. I tried looking for that road and its not in Knightsbridge. I also looked back and can't find that it ever existed in this area (thought it might have been bulldozed or something during the 60's when a lot of redevelopment took place in London).. So I am not sure its the correct Road or maybe its in another part of London as I believe there is one in east London. You could try the Ancestry website as you know their last name and try looking them up that way.

Knightsbridge is central London rather than North London. There is a Repton Road in Harrow which in North London. If you look on Google Street view you could try and see if any of the houses match the background.
