Looking for umbrella stroller that sits foward not at incline.

The stroller I have now my ds(18 months) doesn't like because it doesn't let him sit all the way upright.He is always fighting to sit up-he is on the short side.I am looking to get a new umbrella style one for our trip and was looking at the Maclaren(quest or triumph) the britax blink,uppa baby g lux or the graco ipo.Does anyone have any of these and can tell me if it sits up far?TIA

We had the blink and now have the quest. I don't think the problem is the "sitting up" of the stroller but rather the give of the seat. The cheaper umbrella strollers let the child sink into it which makes the shorties have trouble seeing cause the sinking backwards. We didn't like the blink at all... my daughter cried all the time in it and I found it hard to manuever. We got the quest and love it. There is a ton of back support and keeps them sitting upright. It does adjust to lean back but not too much. It also has the option of putting the legs up which is really nice!

I love my Britax! I had a Mac and it was a piece of junk, also ds (2 at the time) kept sinking. I had to borrow a towel from the hotel room to push behind his back to make him happy. He's a little guy and is just now 32 lbs at 3+

Edit to add the the Mac was a Triumph. My Britax is older and I just found out it isn't made anymore. It's looks just like the Chicco.

I had looked at the maclarens last year before our trip and didn't really love them-they didn't seem that cushy and ds was only 6 months at the time.I didn't know he was going to be more torso than leg! I have the Aprica presto and it goes up to 70 pds so the seat is longer than most strollers to accomadate a bigger childs behind so he sits weird in it with his legs out more infront of him.He scoots them down but that makes him lean back more and he can't see things well.He doesn't like it-he likes the bigger full size travel system better but I am not bringing that away!The seat does not sink down it just is too deep for him I think.I spent 200 on that stroller and hopefully he will grow into a bit more so I really hate to spend another 200 plus again.I thought that the aprica would get me through the stroller years because it had such a high weight limit and then he had to be a shortyI think I had 4 or 5 strollers with dd(she is 10 so we had got rid of them)

I bought a Perego Pliko P3 for my niece (she was 4.5 yrs at the time) so I can't help with the baby part. She found it more comfortable than the Maclaren's.

I ordered it from www.albeebaby.com they have some really good prices right now on some of the different strollers. Britax Blink is one that is a closeout sale.

We have the IPO. It sits up right rather well. And it also reclines a bit for a rest if he'll need one. The only bad part of it is the sun shade...it doesn't offer a lot of shade (we ended up ordering a stroller umbrella from shadybaby.com).

We have the Maclaren Volo and love it! We've had it for about 4 years now and we will be taking it down with us to Disney again next week just to use at Epcot because last year it was a life saver for us.

After doing a lot of research we got the Zooper Twist which we love. It sits fully upright which the boys really like. It is a bit heavier then your typical umbrella stroller but it is a lot sturdier and sits very upright, has a high back (19") and is for up to 55lbs. It has a great sunshade on it and does a full recline. Also the handles are high enough that we don't feel like we have to hunch over to push it.

Costco has had a great deal on it lately (even includes a suncover and raincover).

So after many hours in baby stores this weekend I wound up with the Maclaren Quest sport.We looked at the mamas and papas cruise-thought it was okay,the cybex one-I liked the canopy on that,went to buy buy baby to check out the uppa baby g-luxe but they didn't have it on the floor at the one I went to.My ds was very cranky both days we went and he was crying when we would try to put him in the strollers but for the maclaren he stopped and was comfy.He liked the mamas and papas 2nd best.Hated the city mini(he cried last year in that too and wanted out)He seems to fit nicely in the maclaren but I still don't love the small canopy and I think the way the leg rest goes out is a pain(having to pull out a bar on each side)We tried the techno but it was heavier than I wanted but had the nicer shade and footrest.I wish they made the quest the same.So for now I picked up the quest(used a coupon and got it for 200 with tax so not too bad)but I always have a hard time making up my mind and have been known to return things so who knows if I will keep it.Dh keeps saying he thinks it is good.I don't leave for 33 more days so I have time-I just picked it up because babies r us didn't have the one I wanted and the other store is about 45 minutes away from me but by dh work so he can always return it for me if needed.I just wish I could find one that I love 100% but that never really happens does it.

I know you already got one, but did you try the combi? All my boys really liked that because they could sit more upright and hold onto the front bar. It was great because it was like a full size stroller but smaller and folded up small and DH liked having the shoulder strap.

We looked at the combi's but dh didn't like the way they rode-I think because of the way they fold up the handlebars seemed to rock more back and forth-he thought it didn't seem sturdy I looked at them because I liked the belly bar with the snack holder

We have the Maclaren Triumph and DD loves it. It does recline but not a lot so if your kid only sleep fully reclined it's not a good choice but if they like to be slightly inclined it's great. It clips to sit straight up and its is pretty much a 90 degree angle. The adjuster is like a clip belt so you pull the strap till they are happy.

What your husband thought was rickety in the handles of the Combi, was in fact a steering system. If you push the handle towards the left, it steers the stroller right, and vice versa. It was one of the things we loved about their strollers, especially if you are pushing one handed.

We used ours in Disney (we had 3 of them) when my nieces and nephew were ages 13 months and 2.5 years. Never once did they kids complain about being in them, in fact they all napped in them daily.

We are going back with the kids again in January and they will now be 5 and 6 years old and the strollers are still big enough to handle the weight and size of the kids.

To help with the small canopy www.shadybaby.com. We bought one for our Graco Ipo (same issue as the Malaren very little canopy=not enough shade for kiddo). It is super easy to install and gives the extra shade (we actually took a couple cothes pins with us and clipped it to the Ipo canopy so it gave maximum shade coverage).

I really wanted to try it out but the store didn't have it on the floor-I think they have it at another store that I will be near this weekend but I have to check and try to find time to get to before I need to be at a party.My dh is like great lets get ds annoyed before we have to be out all day without naptime!Ds is not a fan of stroller shopping!

Sure.... The thing I like best about it is that even though it's an umbrella stroller, it handles really well. We live in a big city and sometimes the sidewalks aren't that great. We have a really heavy duty stroller because of that, but the G-Luxe handles them really well too. The sunshade is AMAZING and I like that the seat liner is removable and washable. I wanted a stroller that would allow my daughter to sit up and didn’t look like she was reclining all the time... This stroller allows that. The one thing that I don't love about the stroller is that the outside is a white color. I Scotch guarded the heck out of mine, so it's still in great shape, but if you aren't careful it could get dirty fast.
Lastly, I liked the price. For $189 it’s not cheap, but compared to other strollers, it’s a steal. I didn’t want to pay more than $200 for a lightweight stroller because we are hoping for another little one and I know I’ll most likely need a double.

I have a Mac Quest and I'm looking to replace it. DS11mo is constantly slumping to one side and sliding down the seat, and the recline position isn't condusive to napping. So neither position is any good.

I wouldn't recommend it.
