Planning a last minute trip in May. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We have an almost 2 year old son and will most likely spend some time relaxing at the resort. Would like to have nice views (fireworks a plus). Would also like to stay at a resort that will entertain toddler when not at one of the parks. Any areas to avoid (or don't miss)?

Thanks.

MK will be your best friend. There is a lot to do there that he can enjoy/participate in. I'd check out the Character Breakfasts - the one at the Polynesian is our favorite. If you want a night out, you can hire a 'Fairy Godmother' to sit for you in the room. We haven't used it, but have heard good things about the program. There's a good FAQ here http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/childfaq.htm

The Polynesian has a great, casual, family atmosphere as well as great views of MK/fireworks. Also it has the beach and a zero entry pool plus the convenience of the monorail which really makes it easy to get back to the room for a midday break/nap.

I agree with the last post. The poly sounds like your best bet. The travel is convienient because of the monorail going straight to the magic kingdom. Also, there are two pools, one including a water slide which I enjoyed greatly!! You can view the fireworks from the beach every night, the sound systems around the resort also play the music that is being played during the fireworks at MK.

There is also a Peter Pan buliding for the kids, they are watched by CM that entertain them with crafts etc. So if you wanted to get out for the night your DS could play there.

The Neverland Club is an onsite babysitting service, so it's not like you can just go in and let your child play in there. You can make reservations for him to go there if he is toilet trained.
