Hey everyone! New here and wasn't sure which category to choose, so I just went with this one. I'm on the hunt for the 'prefect travel purse'. My husband, myself, and our toddler son will be going to Disney in September. Looking for a bag that travels well, with enough room for my things as well as a few things of my sons. And a bag that I won't be afraid to get a little dirty! All of my bags are Coach, so I don't think taking them to Disney is a good idea. This bag/purse will most likely not be taken into the park (we are taking a backpack 'park bag'). I've been looking into Vera Bradley and alot of the totes seem very functional! If anyone has a great purse /bag they travel with, or if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!! Thanks :)

My apologies - I somehow managed to post a response to the wrong thread. Not sure how that happened! Slippery typing fingers I guess.

I like the eBags Piazza day bag and the Travelon Nylon Hobo (which I bought from QVC). Not the prettiest bags BUT I don't mind getting them a little dirty and they both have room for water bottles. Perfect for touring IMHO!

I bought this - water proof with pockets that zipper, big enough to carry my phone, wallet, sunglasses, and other essentials like a mirror and lip gloss. :rotfl: It looks big in the picture, but it's not. It's the Baggallini Criss Cross bag.

Patagonia Atom sling
Pros for us: just the right size (smaller than a backpack, big enough for H2O bottles)
Has a few pockets to keep things organized
Has clasps on the outside for a caps or a jacket
Keeps hands free
DH is happy to take turns carrying it

I thought these Baggallini pushers were crazy - and then we got one! LOVE it!! Use it everytime we travel (Not just Disney). In fact, next month when we go on separate vacations, I think there may be a fight over the bag!!

It was the messenger bag. DH and DD both take their turns with it.

I have this as well, and it is wonderful!!! And it swings around to the front pretty easily when getting on rides.

It holds a lot more stuff than it looks like it can. :thumbsup2

I LOVE Vera, but I don't recommend it for what you are looking for. They get pretty dirty and don't dry out fast, so I'd go for a "techy" fabric.

I 100% recommend either a cross body or backpack. That will really help save your arms/shoulders over the course of your vacation.

I am also a huge fan of the Baggallini Messenger Bag. I had one I have used for several years.I love the bag so much last year I bought 2 new one in differant colors. The straps on the new bags have rougher edges. I wore one on a chilly night with a lightweight sweater and it cause the sweater to get a lot of little lint pills. This never happened with the old bag. I still love the bag but just watch what I wear it with.

THanks so much for the suggestion! Just found piazza on sale on ebags along with some packing cubes - woot!

We have the baggallini messenger bag and the Patagonia atom. Eh carried the atom with water bottles etc. The messenger bag was the right size but too many pockets. I could never find anything. Wound up putting tickets in cargo pockets. Of course, if I always put things back where I find them...;)

I used a Baggallini Messenger Bagg on my trip last month and absolutely loved it!

It was exactly the right size for me (when I received it in the mail, I was worried that it seemed a little small, since I had used a small-to-medium size backpack in the past, but it was fine). There are lots of pockets and compartments for organizing your stuff. It even has an exterior cell phone pocket and a mesh water bottle pocket, which was extremely handy. I also found the bag very comfortable to wear and easy to use, especially since you don't have keep taking it off and on like a backpack.

This is the one I have! I got it (in hot pink of course) before my first solo trip two years ago, and it worked perfectly for me. I found a spot for everything I needed, and was able to keep everything organized instead of dumping everything into a single-compartment purse :thumbsup2
