Well we did it, we were able to book a Disney Vacation without our 14 year old and 11 year old finding out. Now we are looking for a way to tell them the great news in the best fashion. It will be their second trip, we took them last year for spring break, big mistake to go during that busy time, but that's a subject for another post. So far I have come up with 2 ideas, first is the pizza box idea I saw somebody else do where you print up "you're going to Disney World" on a paper, order pizza from your favorite place, tape it to the inside top of the box on the way home and let the kids open the box. It seems cute, but I want something with more excitement. My idea is a letter I wrote up to the kids from the Keepers of the Kingdom. My kids are both excellent readers, and they have read some of the books, so I thought it would be good to send a letter asking them to go on a secret mission to protect the park, but don't put the part in about our actual vacation plans until the last paragraph of the letter. Does anybody else have any really good ideas to share on how to surprise a teen and a tween? We had thought about a day of surprise, but the fact that they will be flying for the first time, thanks to an awesome sale at Southwest, I didn't want a scene at the airport. Thanks in advance for any input.
