Looking for Suggestions for Places to Visit a Short(ish) Drive from State College, PA

Nothing like a last minute move

I have family in Sturgeon Bay/Door Cty and have spent a lot of time there but that is the opposite side of WI.
Yeah, the last minute moves get old. I never have time to do a lot of research on an area, which is why I'm constantly looking for last minute suggestions here. I'm very appreciative of how patient you all are with me & my many travel related questions.

You could start a travel blog.

I have family in the Hudson Valley. We love all it’s historical areas. The places from the story actually exist and you can see them. Most of the characters in the story were inspired by real people. The Headless Horseman does haunt Sleepy Hollow (for those who believe the supernatural exists). Here is his real story:
He died in the Battle of White Plains in real life. His head was never found (it most likely disintegrated when the cannon ball hit him). He was an honorable hessian who fought on the wrong side.

There is a tradition in the Hudson Valley when driving to Sleepy Hollow, to listen to the legend. It helps you appreciate the surrounding buildings and locations.

I live near Lake Erie and all our beaches are free. At Presque Isle there are bikes and boats to rent and walking paths. There is a nature museum near the beach called the Tom Ridge Center that I think is also free.. At the bayfront there is a big tour boat called the Victorian Princess. You can go on a tour or dinner cruise. We also have a mall here.

I know a bit old, but I've heard about this place.
