We will be staying in the San Diego area from the 20th-26th of March. I am looking for a clean, affordable suite type hotel in a decent area. We were trying to spend in the $150-$200 range. The suite type hotels usually serve us well as our kids are 5, 7, and 11 and we really need to have at least two double beds and a pullout. I don't need to be in the downtown area, as most of the trip will be spent doing parks and such north of downtown. I would really like something in the Del Mar/Lajolla area. Also, I was wondering if you think it would be worth it to spend a day at Disneyland? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Ilisa

I am no help but you will be in San diego around the same time I am. I am driving from LA cause it was cheaper me to fly there.

Consider the Mira Mesa/Sorrento Valley area of San Diego which is very close to both Del Mar and La Jolla with easy access to freeways (I-5 & I-805). There are quite a number of suite-type hotels due to the number of hi-tech businesses in that area:

Country Inn & Suites
Homestead Studio Suites
Courtyard by Marriott
Residence Inn
Woodfin Suites

Check this website for specific information: http://hotelsandiego.us/mira-mesa.html

I've never stayed in any of these hotels so I can't give you a review of them, but I hope the above info helps. :)

Another one to check out is Embassy Suites, off of the I-805 on La Jolla Village Drive, which is just south of Mira Mesa.

Good luck in your search.
