Hi Everyone! Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to stay in North Myrtle Beach. I have 3 children ages 8, 5, and 2. I am so confused...there are so many choices! Thanks!

How long will you be there - does it have to be NMB? When we go, it's worth it to pay the extra and have a true ocean front room, because we take our 2 little dogs, and like to just relax in the hotel room, and only do a few touristy things - so that extra expense we feel is worth it. Where if you aren't planning on spending all that much time in a room, it may not be worth the extra for the view when you won't be seeing much of it! :)

We love Myrtle Beach, and have stayed in N. Myrtle most of our trips because of my in-laws timeshare - Wyndham Ocean Blvd. We'll be staying there again this yr., but the last 2 yrs. we couldn't, so we tried 2 new places. We like to be on the beach and have the condo set-up for space and cooking some meals, as we have a 11 and 7 yr. old. The place we tried 2 yrs. ago and really liked was not in NMB, but was in a quiet area of MB since the area to the left is residential. It is called Grand Shores, and is a good deal if you're not looking for fancy. It is a nice set-up, with a room w/2 queen beds when you walk in, then the "hallway" has a full kitchen on right and BR on left, and then into the living room w/ double murphy bed(kids thought this was the greatest) and fold-out sofa. We did ocean view on side of building since it was a little cheaper. It is right on the beach, and there is a pool and lazy river on bottom floor, as well as on 7th floor, and some hot tubs. There is a nice little restaurant on-site as well. Rates went up a little last yr., and we couldn't get the dates we wanted, but we were very happy w/it and had great rates (also went at end of Aug. so may have been better deals). I researched it on Trip Advisor, and it was as I expected. if you're interested, check out their website - they usually have specials running.

Last year we tried Craig's List and VRBO, and couldn't get what we needed for our dates, but there is a lot out there to rent. We ended up finding The Blue Water Resort from a friend of a friend, and it was a similar set up, but smaller, and in a busier area, and we weren't as happy. We will be back at the Wyndham this yr., which you will see for rent, and is very nice, but it tends to be pricey.

If you've never been, there's a great aquarium at Broadway at the Beach - good for a rainy day, it's small but perfect for young kids, w/horseshoe crabs and rays to touch. We also love River City Cafe - it's a burger joint where you throw peanut shells on the floor, casual and good prices. There a several locations, and if you stay at Grand Shores or others like it, there is a coupon on your key card for it and others, i.e. California Pizza Kitchen. Also get coupon booklets in hotel lobby. Hope this helps!
