Looking For Others Who Have Won A Free Trip To Wdw....anyone????

Looking for a board that would have other DIS'ERS who have won a trip to WDW from a contest. Are there any boards out there?

Haven't seen a special board for prize winners. The winners tend to post and then ask questions if they aren't DIS veterans. They will ask what hotel is the best one to pick. Then other winners will then answer with their own experience and how to limit the taxes.

So let me ask the question everyone will want to know. What contest did you win?

I won a trip for 4 (roundtrip airfare, deluxe resort accommodations, 5 day park hopper passes for all, plus $250 and some dinner for Expedition Everest). I won it off of a NY radio station (lite fm) back in March. I have anxiously been awaiting for a call from Disney to book the trip for the last week of August, but it seems to be taking FOREVER! I did get a call almost two weeks ago from Disney just saying that someone should be calling me within 10 days to book....still waiting! I don't mean to sound like I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I want to make ADR's and also plan to stay in our DVC resort for an additional few days and I need to book that too! Just anxious I guess coupled with the fact I don't like to not be in control!!!

We won a trip to Disney last year from a tv station in Hartford Ct. 6 days 5nights hotel and air and spending money 200.00 perday for each person there were 4 of us. We had a great time stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Disney called us then it seemed like they forgot us so I made the call and them they sent everything we needed through email to pick our hotel.You may need to call them they get very busy there they said. Give them a call Disney always seems to through in some extras our kids had milk and cookies delivered everynight to our room from Disney the kids loved it from a long day at the park to the treat in the room every night.

My son won a trip last summer to Disney. It was a 5000.00 value. We planned everything and as long as we didn't go over the budget it was free. We did 6 nights at AKL, 5 day tickets, sea world, discovery cove and then had disney dollars and gas cards left over to use. He won it through the National Christmas Tree Association. You can search their name and click on contest winners to read his story. His name is Brok.

As soon as you have your plans, pretend to rebook it at the best prices you can find, so when tax time comes, you can "prove" the trip value was less. Go online and bring up plane reservations, just before you hit the button to make them, print it out, and pretend to book the room and print that. For instance, if you are going during free dining, they will prob still give that value, and that is what you would pay tax on, so you want to print out what the cost would have been if you booked the same package yourself.

I can feel your pain about waiting to hear. I won a charity auction for two tickets to the World Premier & private after-party for Will Ferrell's new Nascar comedy "Talladega Nights". All we know is that it is tentatively set for July 26 in LA. I live in NJ and need to get plane tickets. But, the dates keep changing. So I am waiting for them to let me know when the dates are set so I can buy my tickets.
Anyway, My wife and I are ecstatic to go. Since 3 weeks later we go to WDW. So that month will be very fun.

Just to give an update.....I finally heard from the promo dept. at Disney. We are staying at AKL 8/24-8/28 for my free Disney trip! 8/28-8/31 we will use our DVC membership and stay at OKW. I'm so glad to finally get this booked. Now I can start on my ADRs. I've read good things about AKL and can't wait to stay there! I think the kids will really like the atmosphere! Going to try to make a Boma reservation now. I hear they are tough to get!

I am insanely jealous of all you! I want to stay at the AKL so bad and it would take me 2 years to save up the money to be able to stay there....but in order for me to save the money, I wouldn't be able to go to Disney for 2 years!!! Congrats to you folks that won an enjoy your free trips!

We won a trip from Where I worked along with free airfare from the travel channel, but it was a few years ago. It was our first trip there and now we're finally able to take the kids! It was many years coming. Now it's only 5 weeks and 1 day till we leave for 10 days at Fort Wilderness!

I have won two trips to WDW, I enter sweepstakes as a hobby. Our first win, we stayed at AKL, wow, we loved it! The last trip we were offered the GF, I was so excited but ended up liking AKL better. One trip included priority seating for a parade but neither gave us meals or cash. Winning these two trips has allowed us to visit WDW about every two years for 10 years. I love it but my kids are a bit tired (?).
Our last trip was not actually a trip win, I won cash and we went to WDW, stayed at AKL again, great place but didn't care for Boma for dinner.

I won the Jif peanut butter contest that is going on now. 5 days/4 nights, 5 day hopper tickets, and airfare for a family of 4. Sent the affidavids back this past week, still waiting to hear how we book the trip, where we stay, and how to pay for the other two. We are a family of 6.

I know I will have tons of questions once I know when we are going and where we are staying. The contest said we need to book by the end of July and travel by the end of March.

Do you think we will be able to choose where we are staying and do you think we will be able to add the other two children on if it is within the $4210 budget?

Wow! 2 other families from our area at the same time! I thought that only happened during NJ Week! We should arrange to go to the same park on a particular day so the kids could hang out together! Send me a PM with who the others are......I'll see if my son knows them!

I had to jump in here. I won a trip for 4 to DW about 3 years ago. It was a local radio station that covered the Atlanta Braves. You had to write in five words or less why you deserved a trip to Disney. My entry was "Family needs the Royal Treatment". The Royal Treatment was actually a name of one of the shows on the radio station.

We won 4 nights at the Beach Club, airfare for 4, transfers, park hoppers for 4 and tickets to a Spring Training game. We had a blast!
