Hi. I was looking at cameras this weekend and came across the Olympus Stylus 810.

I really only take pics of the kids and trips, nothing fancy. We do like to use our camera for the movie function.

What do you think? It runs 350.00. I would appreciate all comments, good and bad.

Also, if this is not a good camera, what would you recommend? I have a Lumix right now, 3.2 megapixels. It takes SD cards and would preferably like to stay with the SD since I already have them. I would like at least a 7-8 megapixel camera, but came across the Olympus and liked it because of all the modes it had. I noticed that it also did not take regular AA batteries. Our Lumix takes regular AA batteries that we have rechargables for. I guess the AA battery feature is not really important as long as the battery lasts long. We take alot of pics and movies and like to view our pics after we have taken a few.

Thanks!

IMO for that price range you would probably be better off with a Canon A700 It uses SD memory cards and AA batteries

I concur with DD1967

A700 uses TRUE image stabilizer and have cleaner ISO 400 (with ISO800 capability), uses SD card.

810 uses fake image stabilizer (by boosting the ISO) and not too clean ISO 400... and it DOES use XD card.
