Perhaps I've overlooked them, but I can't seem to find recipes for drinks such as the lava smoothie or the sour apple drink. I've found what appears to be the alcoholic equivalent such as the lava colava and the sour apple chiller, but not the nonalcoholic versions. Does anyone have the nonalcoholic smoothie recipes?

Sour Apple Freeze
Sweet & sour mixer and sprite blended with Monin granny smith apple mix and ice in a blender. Not sure of the amounts. I would work backwards. Fill the cup you want to drink from with ice, put in blender then add 1 or 2 ounces of the sour mix, and sprite and 1 ounce of the Monin syrup. Blend, taste, adjust if necessary and serve.

Lava Smoothie
Raspberry puree blended with pina colada mix. Working backwards. Fill glass with ice. Dump ice into blender. Pour 1 ounce of raspberry puree in the bottom of the serving glass. Add a few ounces of pina colada mix to the blender. Blend and pour into the glass on top of puree. You will get the "lava" look. Serve. Garnish with a raspberry and /or a piece of fresh pineapple.

The original is made with raspberry rum blended with the colada mix, so you may want to get some raspberry flavoring to blend with the colada mix.

Thanks for the quick reply and for the link to the apple mixer. This is my first attempt at making this type of mixed drink, so I want to make sure I have the basic steps down before I experiment. The lava colada recipe called for island oasis raspberry (drink mix). Would this be the same as raspberry puree? If so, has anyone used the pina colada mix from island oasis? Island oasis only lets me order in quantities of 6, so would 4 pina colada mixes and 2 raspberry mixes be the best combination (roughly 3 parts pina colada and 1 part raspberry puree before experimenting)?

Thanks again for the recipe.

Island Oasis mixes come nonalcoholic and the alcohol is added later correct? Thus, I should be able to use it for the smoothie?

Yes, it would be the same. And yes, you would add the alcohol, so it is a smoothie if you don't add it.

I haven't tried Island Oasis. You can practice with (or use instead of the Island Oasis) the Bacardi frozen pina colada mixer and a package of frozen raspberries. Thaw berries slightly, then put in a blender, add a little sugar and maybe a little water. Puree. Pour into a clean ice cube tray, freeze until solid. Remove from tray and place in a ziploc. Then you can put 1 or 2 cubes in the bottom of a glass and thaw. Then finish with the pina colada mix. Experiment with the amounts until you get the taste to your liking.

:)

Alright thank you for the help. I plan on picking some things up at the store and trying to make them this weekend. Thanks again.
