I just purchased a new DSLR (D40x) and I need a comfortable strap.

I prefer to sling the camera to my side towards the back when I am not using it. The problem is the size of the straps I have been looking at. I am 6'3" 280lbs with large shoulders and chest and the straps are not long enough, the camera ends up under my arm which is uncomfortable.

I have looked at the Adorama and BH sites, but the longest strap they have is 52".

I would like a long strap with comfortable padding and maybe built in storage for memory.

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Ron

Optech straps are the best out there as far as I am concerned. They have several different styles.

Op/Tech Pro Strap all that way, baby!

I'm not sure that it'll solve your length problem, but it probably wouldn't hurt. I'm 6'2" and have mine at the shortest length it can go, which is pretty similar to the factory strap. I think that the Op/Tech could be let out another 3-4" or so... their site should have the exact specs. Regardless, it's definitely much more comfortable than the OEM ones. However, it really is designed to be over your neck, not over your shoulder, but it does work OK there too.
