Thanks! Would I have to pay for the points first or would they look to see if my dates are available before I bought points. I don’t want to buy them if I can’t use them.there are private companies that will rent you points or you can look on this board for people renting their points directly -- they'll make a reservation for you that you then pay them for.
it appears you also posted on a FB group with a similar question - a number of people, including myself, provided answers there. is there anything more specific you wish to know? i will reiterate tho, availability is extremely limited for Standard (and BW) View studios in December. Pool/garden view is a tad better, but still very limited for consecutive nights. The likelihood of two Standard View studios (as you had noted on FB) would be slim to none. You might want to stick with Pop for this trip, and look into renting points at least 10-11 months prior for the next trip.Looking for info about boardwalk villas. I currently have a reservation at pop through Disney in December but Im thinking of cancelling and renting dvc. Can anyone help me with this process? I’ve never rented dvc before and I’m not sure what to do. Thank you!

I was basing that answer on the situation OP stated elsewhere, that they were looking for two Standard View studios for the same nights in December., as they are traveling with family. Even just two nights of two Standard View studios is highly unlikely, and it appears they are looking for more nights than that. Agreed, they should keep the Pop reservation, but didn't want them to get their hopes up thinking it was likely, when it is more likely to not happen (also consider that if their dates miraculously appear, it is most feasible that only one studio would be available. Unfortunately, if they rent the points & book that studio, they might never get the second.....and would probably be unable to get a refund on the first)Without all the detail of dates and POP price can't say what that price/point would be but I bet we could get there especially if they OP is fine just waiting with the POP reservation until we get closer and the rental sites start discounting the reservations as well.
I agree that going with a broker is the way to go if the OP has their heart set on BWV in December. Availability is tight in December and I check regularly to adjust my own "holding pattern" reservation. If the OP is willing to stay at SSR they may have a chance of booking 2 studios for the same week but there are only 2 *days* open in a standard view BWV studio in all of December.Honestly, right now there are several thousand confirmed reservations with the brokers. You might try looking there first. December dates are not really wide open anywhere right now as people sit in holding patterns to see what things will be like.
You should look carefully at the terms of a rental. Most rentals are final transactions and if there should be travel quarantines or you get sick, you may not be able to change dates of get a refund.
You may not be able to get a BWV standard view at 7 months. I would pick the Beach Club over the Boardwalk if you have young children who would enjoy the beachy sand bottom pool. Otherwise, I would go for longer if you can get it.I have a question and am looking for opinions. I am a member at Bay Lake, but after 4 stays there I am looking for something difference. I am planning a spring trip and should have enough points for 6 nights a the Beach Club or 7 nights standard view at the Boardwalk, what do you suggest?
Except if your children are kind of young, you need to have three sets of eyes on them at all times. Stormalong Bay is a really expansive pool and you can lose a child if you aren't careful. Independent and good swimmer makes it easy on Mom and Dad.You may not be able to get a BWV standard view at 7 months. Bcv rooms feel far away and lots of walking in the hallways.
I think other people might say that the hallways at BWV seem endless.
I stayed at Yacht Club a couple of years ago, our room was near the Dolphin, seemed worse than BWV. The only good thing was there was an elevator near our room and a door at the end of the hall.
