HI there, It has been a very rough year for my mom and I and we are finally getting our dream trip to Disney World around the holidays. My Mom will be celebrating her birthday while we are there. I was looking for any ideas you may have that I could suprise her with. Money is very tight so I am looking for something as inexpensive as possible. I was really hoping for a discount code so we could stay at the Wilderness Lodge or Port Orleans French Quarter but I just can't afford it. But I would like to do something special if anyone has any ideas. Thanks so much.

Decorate the room mirrors and windows with window clings. You can pick those up at Wal-mart for a little money.

Make sure the resort knows that you are celebrating a birthday. You just never know...

Collect the different birthday pins at the parks. It's wonderful to be wished Happy Birthday by CMs and Guests. Again, this helps with the magic as well.

Just go and have fun. You need to be on the look out for magic because you just never know what might happen. For my 40th b-day trip, my brother, sister and I got to be grand marshalls for the afternoon parade in MK. Talk about being dusted!

Yes...you want to get the b-day pins at the parks for sure. DBIL did this last year while we were there....he got announced and sang to in the food court at the resort and then he got all kinds of b-day wishes at the park...including a free Mickey Bar :mickeybar !!!! :wave2:

Thank you everyone! I have them bringing balloons and a cake to the room but my most exciting news is that I was able to upgrade to the Wilderness Lodge on my military discount! YIPEE!

Congrats on getting the military discount so you can go to WL! You can take her to the afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian on her birthday. It's nice and not any more expensive than a regular meal. It's kinda girly, and feel pampered.

Here's a link to the menu: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_gft.htm

In case you haven't found it yet, that whole site is great. Has the menus for all the restaurants and everything. Have a great trip!
