Has anyone seen any dings or specials for stl to mco for December. The price is still $179 on way. Looking for a better deal!

Are you in need of a oneway or roundtrip fare and on what dates are you traveling? There are options available on American Airlines as well as a low fare carrier, Allegiant Air, that might work for you.

We are looking for round trip. Allegiant air is not an option, I don't think they fly the dates we need but not sure.

Allegiant flies from Springfield to Sanford on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The dates are crucial.... if you're going at Christmas, forget cheap, buy now!

We are going Dec. 9-16th. I really don't want to drive to Springfield. Guess we will just wait to see if we get a ding soon.

$211.60 per roundtrip on nonstop flights with Allegiant Air from Springfield or who knows what the fare will be with Southwest Airlines in the future. As you mentioned.... currently $159 each way. The savings can be dramatic by driving west to the state capital.

An air/hotel or air/car package with Southwest might be another option for potentially lowering your net cost of your trip. Are you in need of a car or accommodations?

Uh... driving west from St. Louis to the state capital would put you in Jefferson City, which doesn't have commercial air service, not Springfield.

What part of Dec are you looking for? I would hold out if I were you, unless you are looking for Christmas time travel. Good luck! I know the waiting game is tough. Check your Ding daily :teeth:

As I mentioned in a subsequent post, Southwest has a much lower airfare if you book a car or hotel package with them. I believe the cost can be even lower than their air only price, so give me a holler if you wish to do this.

Additionally, if you are interested in Allegiant Air, they fly out of Mid-America Airport (about 15 miles east of St. Louis in Illinois).

That is much closer than Springfield, MO.

BTW - Springfield is the capitol of Illinois (and prices from our airport are very expensive); Jefferson City is the capitol of MO.

You are absolutely correct.... my geography failed me for a bit but the option to fly on Allegient Air from Mid-America Airport is even cheaper than the Springfield, MO flights and I'd imagine the parking would also be much cheaper at this airport as opposed to Lambert Field in St. Louis.
