looking for foster care or adoption for 4 kittens

So, last week my sweet neighbor Chloe, was getting out of her car and heard faint meowing. She looked and looked amongst the garbage cans and trash(next day was trash day) In a pile of garbage under a box, was another cardboard box with the lid on. It was about 87 degrees out. She opened the box to find 4 brand new kittens in the box just covered in fleas and ants. Well, she grabbed the box and ran to my house. We brought them inside and began to wash them. The water turned red from the blood from all the flea bites. We sent our strong men to the pet store to get baby animal feeding bottles and kitten formula.
One kitten still had the umbilical chord on his tummy.
We have since been feeding them every few hours . they need constant care. Their eyes are a little gummy because of infection and just becoming open.
We can not keep 4 kittens.
But every shelter we call says that they are at capacity and if we drop them off, they will be put down that day. So, we cant have that happen. So, for now we are stuck with these Kittens.We are asking for anyone to adopt 1 or more of them. They should be on solid food in a few weeks but for now,they need someone who can bottle feed them and wipe them every few hours to mimic the mother teaching them how to potty. If you have a pet, please Im begging you. Spay or neuter your animal. 10,000 animals a month get put to sleep in Los Angeles County. Such waste. So cruel.
97 % of all cats and kittens in shelters get put down.
If you dont want to adopt one of these kittens that I have, please dont go to the mall to get a pet, rescue a pet from the shelter or pound that will need a good home. If anyone is interested in one of these rescues, please pm me and Ill give you my contact info .
They will need to be fixed and given shots.

Contact a vet, especially at a Cat-only clinic. They may be able to provide some advice and/or assistance.

You are so sweet for taking them in. Thank goodness your friend found them. I hate to think what would have happened to them if she had not heard them when she did. Some people are so stupid. Then there are wonderful people like you and your friend that make up for them.

I'm on the other side of the country or I would take at least one.

I have to second what Cheshire Figment said. Call every single vet office in your area. I bet you will find someone through them or someone who works in their office who is willing to help.

Bless you for caring for them. How old do the kittens look? Have you tried contacting nearby counties or no kill shelters to see they could take them?

2 days ago , I just got a 4 week old kitten almost the same way. The lady who brought them in to the SPCA (2 kittens, mother died) found them outside and the SPCA would have put them down if she didn't take them home for a few weeks. Lucky we took one and another lady took the other.

I wish I weren't so far away, or I'd take at least one! My cat came from Kitty Death Row, she was scheduled to be put down the day after I found her...best $50 I've ever spent Hope you're able to find homes soon for these kitties!

I remember when you saved that Great Dane that had gotten loose on the interstate. You really have a heart of gold!

I have such a soft spot for animals too. I have three rescue animals, a 12 year old cat and two bunnies.

All of the kittens were adopted to a NO KILL Animal shelter yesterday.
A woman named Mary is a Saint. After calling shelters from San Diego to Santa Barbara and hearing them all say " no , they will be put down" My friend Harry called me with her info, we took the kittens there. It was very sad for us, but also very happy because we know they will be very very well cared for.

I'm so glad you found a place for them! It's "kitten season" and sadly, the vast majority are put down as there are not enough homes. I'll repeat what you said - SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!! We should not be killing existing animals just to make room for the ones people keep churning out to make a quick buck.
