Was looking to book a stay at a DVC resort and I noticed that under Beach Club and BoardWalk Villas it states that they have limited parking and that if you a car the only option to park your car maybe to use their Valet parking, I was wondering what people's more recent experiences were. Did you have to use Valet Parking? was the parking very limited?
I have stayed at Boardwalk Villas before and we had an rental car and never had any issues with parking our own car so I was wondering if anyone knows what has happened to change this?
If we are using a rental car would you suggest staying away from these resorts if you do not want to pay for Valet Parking? Does anyone know the price for Valet Parking at these resorts?

Thanks for all the help

In my many trips to the BCV's, there has always been plenty of available parking. Never been an issue for us.

I've read of members saying the only available BWV parking was valet

With conferences at BWI and others abusing the BW lot as a back entrance to Epcot, it can occasionally, but rarely happen (and is why it's vigorously enforced F&W weekends)

I have also heard of no available free parking at the Grand Floridian due to conventions.

I'm guessing conventions at Yacht Club could place additional pressure on BCV parking.

We stayed at the Boardwalk and the Grand Floridian this past May and had no issues with parking availability for the length of our 12 day stay.

Were they actually staying at Boardwalk? I haven't seen any posts saying they were denied self parking if they were actually staying there.

I have a reservation October 22-29 and for the first time in awhile I have a rental car reserved. I have had cases in the past where there were problems getting a space on Saturdays when I arrived but the rest of the week was fine.

Have never come close to having a parking issue in many stays at BCV and VGF. There does seem to be a lot of people that park at VGF at night for MK visits. We've come back after 10 and the lot was pretty full, then left the next morning just after 7 and the lot only be 1/4 full.

When they have the big convention that takes a lot of the YC, BC and BWI, plus rooms at the Swan and Dolphin, they also take a lot of the parking lot at BW. So there may be little parking available for guests staying at the BWI or BWV unless they are with the convention. It usually happens in early October.

I concur....have traveled during Christmas week may times, and as long as you are staying there, I have never had an issue with parking

We have done 3 - 4 trips/year at BWV for the past 18 years. We travel at popular DVC times like Food and Wine and early December. We have never been unable to get a parking place, although some times are more crowded than others. The extra guards that are at the lot gates at BW during busy times like Food and Wine have really helped to keep out Epcot scofflaws. I would not make my decision about whether or not to stay at BWV based on parking availability.

Thanks everyone for letting me know your experiences with the parking. I guess I'm a little confused why DVC would post that caution parking statement on their website if there really hasn't been any issues for DVC people staying at these resorts finding parking on their own...

IMO, the notice is more for those who are staying at other DVC resorts and usually drive to other resorts for meals, shopping, etc. They are not used to being turned away.

Covering themselves just in case.
