Besides Pepper Market at the CSR, which other RESORTS have great counter service food courts? I am not familiar with any of the resort food courts or if they are good. I have seen a lot of ppl rave about how great Pepper Market is. Are there any others out there that are also great?

I am trying to decide between QSDP and DDP but I would like to investigate CS places other that at our own home resort of ASMu.

I love the omelettes and pasta at POR. :goodvibes Each is a create your own with generous portions...enough to share if you can agree on topppings!!

None of the deluxe resorts have as much variety as the mods or values. However, I would still recommend them.

Gasparilla Grill at Grand Floridian has some more upscale offerings, such as salad with lobster and lobster mac n' cheese. It also has the standard options, such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza, fries, etc. The soft serve machine there is really good, too.

Contempo Cafe at Contemporary has some fresh and healthier offerings. The tossed salads are really good, as is the marinated beef flatbread with goat cheese, arugula, caramelized onions, and tomatoes. It also has burgers, chicken sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, mahi mahi sandwiches, and pasta dishes for dinner. The cupcakes there are pretty popular.

Captain Cook's at Polynesian has island-inspired offerings such as noodles, some yummy sushi rolls, and an aloha pork sandwich. It also has the famous tonga toast for breakfast. The grown up grilled cheese sounds really good. Plus, you can get dole whips for dessert.

Gasparilla Grill and Contempo Cafe are my two favorite resort CS locations. However, they do not have the variety of a mod or value food court, if that makes a difference.

We thought that Mara at AKL was good.

I think the food courts at all of the mods, and many of the deluxes are just fine. But I wouldn't travel out of my way to eat at one.(Unless you're touring the monorail resorts-always fun!)

Don't forget about the CS places available at DTD, too.

My feeling is that if you are on QSDP and don't have another compelling reason for visiting a particular resort, it's not a good use of time. The food courts just aren't THAT special.

We did that, it was fun! And we made good use of our time exploring the resorts and their CS, for some event, just for a break from the parks, or for checking out a resort for future stays.

We really liked the steaks and burritos at Pepper Mkt (purely a scouting mission before we stayed there), and also:

Capt Cook's at Poly we LOVE Tonga Toast (walked over for early EMH at MK) and Aloha Pork sandwiches (and watched Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes from the beach);

Mara at AKL, the African Stew was tasty (and we wanted to check out the animals on their savannahs);

Contempo Cafe for bfast burritos and lunch flatbreads (on the way to MK);

Riverside Mill at POR, the make-your-own pasta ROCKS the way I have it fixed;), and DH loved the traditional turkey dinner (before a YeHaa Bob show);

And it's on our list to check out Gasparilla at GF on a future visit (before or after enjoying the piano man in the lobby, during a break from MK).

Enjoy your trip! :hippie:

I personally love the beef & brocoli w/ rice at the POP food court. Also, their lo-mein vegi noodles is also fantastic!!!! :)

DH and I just spent a week at the POFQ and had many meals there..click on my May 2011 thread for lots of pictures

The food was good but breakfast was hit or miss

I think the best resort food courts are at Pop Century, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Contemporary.

I really like Pepper Market (and CSR), but IMHO it's not so good that I'd make a special trip to CSR just to eat there.
