Our flight is getting into MCO at 10:00 pm and we're checking into the Dolphin the next day. We just need a clean place to sleep. Does anyone have experience with any inexpensive places preferably around the I-drive area since we're going to Belz first thing the next day? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks to these boards we got the discount rate at the Dolphin! ;)

Since you'll be in the room for less than 24 hours, Priceline would be ideal for you.
I'm not sure if this link will work

Informed Priceline Bidding
If not, do a search on Priceline & I'm sure someone else has linked (correctly to it)

There is a forum on Orlando where you can see all of the great deals people are getting!

I agree with Gillian. DH and I were in the same situtation. We needed a clean inexpensive room for one night, as we would be checking into CSR the following morning. Through Priceline I requested a 3 star hotel for a $25.00 bid, I immediatley received a response from Priceline basiclly stated my chances were between slim and none for aquiring accomodations with such a low bid. They attempt to try and get you to jack up your bid.(I did not increase it) Within an hour as promised I recieved my confirmation from The Sheraton Lakeside they had accepted my $25.00 bid.It certainally fit the bill, clean and inexpensive.

We also needed just one night this July. We used the $20 American Express Bonus Money Link and won a $30 bid at the Sheraton Studio City on I-Drive.

Go visit TravelSheryl's very helpful and informative web site using the link that Gillian posted.

Good Luck! :)

I forgot to mention that we got the Sheraton World on I-Drive for $24 in Spetember! Once you figure out how the bidding (& rebidding!) works it is very easy.

It's also fun!!
:D

I'll check it out. Is there any special area you have to bid for to get those great deals?

We stayed there for our "one night before onsite checkin" and payed $32.00 with tax for the room.

It was very clean, nice staff, 10 min from WDW. Right next door was a Deny's and also a Go Cart Park.

I called them the day before I needed the room and had no problem.

There are two of them, one is farther from WDW.

I'm going to try for the Priceline deals this weekend and if it doesn't work, then apply for my Amex blue card(no annual fee) to get the bonus money. If all else fails, there's always Magic Castle Inn for one night. With the Priceline deals, we could stay Friday and Sat. night since we're not going to the parks until Sunday (we'll have a rental car for the weekend too)and save $$$ by not checking into the Dolphin until Sunday. Thanks so much! These boards are the best. :D

Sounds like you plan on going to the outlets with your car full. don't forget that someone on the boards had EVERYTHING taken from the rental car. Make sure that someone stays with the vehicle. They were only in the store for 20 minuets when this happened. Just a warning.

I have to disagree with the Magic Castle! We stayed at the one farthest from WDW and it was horrible! We thought it would be a nice cheap place to stay the night we arrived before moving on property. I am not a very picky person but I draw the line when my feet stick to the floor. The water also had a horrible sulfur smell and we ran out of hot water and had to take three very quick COLD showers. Maybe the hotel closer to the parks is nicer, there have been many posts where people have liked this hotel. I am not trying to be negative but I just wanted to give you another opinion. Good luck!

We stayed at Hampton Inn Maingate West $49.95 plus tax. Wonderful place. largest continental breakfast budget in the area. In August they had Crispy Creme donuts too! Outdoor pool (probably not an issue with you) and micro-fridge in room. If we hadn't had Marriott gc's, we wouldn't have moved to the Courtyard.

Thanks for the tips especially the one about going to the outlets with the car full. I had never thought about that. We better check in first. <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif" alt="red face">

Bobcat we were at the Magic Castle Inns Eastgate (the same one that you were in) this past Dec and stayed a total of 6 nights and we found it to be a great, clean economical place to rest your weary bones after running through the parks all day. Also a wonderful large continental buffet breakfast.
Regarding the water........all of Orlando area has sulfer smelling water but I do notice that when we move on to Disney owned Lake Buena Vista (Cypress Pointe) the water has a little less sulphur smell to it. IMHO :)

Sammy I'm glad you had a better stay than we did. Maybe we were the exception to the rule. This was two years ago when we stayed there and really for the $21 we payed for the night I shouldn't complain. ;)

Hello,

Just another thumbs up for the Hapmton Inn Main Gate West. We stayed there last Sept. and it was very nice. It is a quite aways from the Belez outlet store, but it is a very good dael at $49.
