Looking for best beer in WDW

Mmmmm.....me too! :lmao:

Seriously, I LOVE the Spaten Optimator at Biergarten! If you are a fan of dark, rick, hearty beers THIS is the one for you!

It's a shame that they don't sell this or the Franzikaner outside at the carts and Sommerfest anymore. Agree with the hot day comment...but it was a great during our annual December trip!

The sad part of beer at WDW is that not much has changed the past few years even though beer culture has been changing in the US. I'm sure it's a $$$ driven decision by Disney ie. who will pay them the most to showcase their product.

The beer sampler at Biergarten was very good! But I will tell you, DH and I are NOT beer snobs! We like Bud Light, Labatt Blue, etc. OK, I probably just made you cringe! :lmao: I understand though, I'm a pizza snob (NYC) so whenever I hear someone tell me how Domino's makes the best pizza in the world, I feel like I'm gonna faint! :rotfl:

Don't blame me - our beer expert is cdtommie whose advice looks right on.

hmm, passing the buck..err beer

I'm going in september, since I'll be dining there on my birthday, I'll try that!

perhaps it is good, perhaps not!

(although the description sounds like you can't go wrong, even without food!)

MMMmmmmm!!!

My favorite beer in the world is Spaten Optimator in the Germany Pavillion.

My dh and I love Yuengling!

We can't get it over here on the west coast...

What and where is PTC????

We did F&WF two years ago; was actually disappointed with beer selection, though I am a fan of Sam Adams. If you haven't tried it yet, definitely check out their blackberry witbier.

Thanks all for your suggestions! Keep 'em coming!

I'm usually not a fan of fruit beers, but I did just finish off a sixer of the Blackberry and was pleasantly surprised. Sam Adams also had a Boysenberry wheat included in thier Longshot sampler a few years back that was excellent.

They used to have Dogfish's 90 minute IPA in bottles at Il Mulino, but I don't know if it's still there. They'll also have Abita Amber and Purple Haze at the F&W fest this year, but surprisingly NO TURBODOG!! :confused3 That's Abita's best beer

In the end, I just always pack the RV with two cases of decent beer before we head down to Ft Wilderness. This year it looks like I'm bringing some Victory Fest (my favorite local marzen), and I'll decide on the other case as my trip gets closer. If it doesn't end up being an Oktoberfest from another brewer, it'll probably be one of my trusty fall-backs like Troegs' Hop Back, Rogue's Dead Guy Ale, or Stone Pale Ale.

I have to admit though ... I'm really curious what WDW/InBev will put together for the Beer kiosk at F&W this year. I'm still holding out a small bit of hope that there might be something interesting

The reality is that the best beer at WDW is the beer you bring with you or purchase before you check in - we are going to make a visit to a store called Knightly Spirits (if we can find it) as our first stop from the airport for our October trip (they supposedly carry the Bell's line which I've never tried before).

We have two Big River Grills less than 30 minutes from where we live and I would not waste my time going there just for the beer. In the summer they have at best a fair wheat beer.
